What do you do when you "hit the wall?"
Howdy everyone!
Like the subject asks, what do you do when you hit the proverbial "wall" with your characters, as in, "oh my gods, I can't find the will to go on with this character anymore." This usually happens to me around the early 70s. It's not like I don't enjoy playing the characters, I just get to a point where I'm thinking, "goddamn, this feels like an unrewarding chore." I have at least four Warbands characters sitting in their early-to-mid 70s, with the only character to make it 80+ being a PA character. So what do you do? Do you just clench your jaw (or other areas) and press on? What are some things that help you break through the wall? |

Honestly, there is nothing that will push you. You have to be a certain type of person to grind this game. It has been completely designed for the 1%ers and no-lifers.
UNLESS....you just have fun and go as far as you can until you stop having fun... Which is what I decided to do :D |

Major thing to remember is that this is a game, not a job. If you aren't having fun, then find a way to have fun. If you can't have fun then maybe find a new game =P
Personally I like to impose self rules in games like this. Force yourself to do a self-found only character, or make a rule that you can't use certain abilities or tactics. Kill bosses in a cool way, or try to build a character without using armour and relying purely on a weapon. Etc. If you enjoy the leveling process and careful play a lot, you could always try out hardcore to bring out more enjoyment for the game. That feeling of permanence helps some people. But no matter what you choose to do, remember that it's most important to just have fun with it =] Every Saturday = National Booze n Poe Day Last edited by Nasreth#4337 on Aug 18, 2015, 3:06:14 PM

I usually either roll a new character to play something new, or go play a different game for a couple of days and then come back.
I really like the idea posted above about self imposed rules. This was actually a common thing among offline, single-player Diablo 2 players to add some variety to the game. |
