'Installation directory must be on a local hard drive'

I keep getting this error when I try to install the game. I'm trying to install it to the default location (C:\Program Files (x86)\Grinding Gear Games\Path of Exile\), and I only have one hard drive.

I tried the fix from here but I get a 404 error from the link.

http://patchcdn.pathofexile.com/0.10.1.3/Client.exe

The version changes quite a bit.
