Elemental Hit/Equilibrium build - Witch or Templar?

I'm trying to make a decent elemental hit build, but using something like Shadow has too much waste trying to get over to EE. So I'd like feedback on these Witch and Templar.
Both would use scepters and shields.

The Templar has less energy shield, but his damage taken will be less thanks to more armor and shield nodes.
I could potentailly also use Zeolot's Oath with him, but that would also requiring getting more endurance charges.
His downside is that he is more vunerable to Chaos Damage and he has lower stats than the witch.
At 73 points, he ends up with 192 INT, 112 STR and 104 DEX

73 Points on Templar

The witch has a much greater energy shield and would have much better base stats of 230 INT, 124 STR and 124 DEX.
She could be immune to chaos Damage with CI because there are only a small amount of health nodes she uses. Or she could not. That is debatable.

73 Points in Witch

For additional skills. They both of decent access via my stash/quests to Tempest shield, Firestorm/Shock Nova/Ice Blast (unsure what one), clarity, Discipline and the support, Weapon Elemental Damage.

I was curious on what you guys think and what class would do the job better.
