What do you do during your break from PoE
So I really only played Hard Core since being back from about a year break. I lost multiple characters to nonsense and also noticed some bugs still exist. For example if you link added fire to zombies, they will never ignite an enemy despite all of the nodes, gems, etc. i linked during my tests. Also the latest patch rendered my flasks that removed bleeding useless for some reason so that was a nice rip against Dom.
That being said, PoE is one of the most addicting and better games I have ever played. I want a list of things and would even fork up serious $ to see it. For example, a better trading system (not an AH), less bugs, less nerf hammer and massive changes, and less negative a-holes in global. Man, tell a bunch of people you RIP and over 10 people will just talk massive trash instead of consoling you or at least asking how you Ripped so they know not to open boxes in western forest. FYI, Western Forest boxes have more lag than any other area I played on Merc. I am going to take a break until Tempest is over, consolidate everything, and then start a new char....or 12 new ones depending on how much more Ripping I do. I don't play a lot of games but lately I'm on a nice pile of savings and kind of enjoy playing more than I ever have before. So i'm going to catch up on a few titles between my PS4 and PC. I figure I put a solid 60+ hours since my return and need a small mental break. I also have some more writing to do and other things. When you take a break from this game what do you do? Play another game? Write? Work a 2nd job? |

I play lots of other games. Have a 3DS that I mess around on from time to time but mostly I play games that I get for cheap on steam sales or other games that I have a vested interest in like anything made by the developers FromSoftware and SuperGiant.
If you're looking for recommendations I'd recommend Dark Souls 1/2 for PC, Bloodborne for PS4, Demon Souls if you can play it. Those games are amazing and can keep you occupied for countless hours. If you like indie games then Bastion and Transistor by Supergiant are great, albeit short games. They aren't expensive (like $15 each I believe) but they have great narrative and storytelling and cool fighting mechanics. Old Path of Exile players, you see, don't ever take breaks; they just keep coming back for more. And that's the way it is.

I bike. I bike a lot. Do about 200 miles a week, often more. Not bad for an old fart.
In terms of games, I play online poker (free sites until California gets online), and other games like minecraft and a few dozen others that I can pick up whenever and put down when I stop. Nothing with much of a commitment or long term goals. I also read quite a bit. |

I don't ride bikes but recently got back into training for BJJ. I'm not so sure i'm looking for another game per se but thanks for the recommendations.
I agree, it's hard to not come back to this game. A few patches and it's almost a completely different game. Just the nerf on Aura's and reduced mana for them was pretty much a game changer to a degree. |

Not sure I want to know what BJJ stands for.

Haha, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. It's a grappling sport/martial art.

In regard to playing games i am looking forward to play D3/S4, additionally the lead developer of Grim Dawn told me they'll might implement a non-dupe/non-hack multiplayer option, if that happens any time soon then GD is also on my top list.

I was a huge fan of Titan Quest and bought Grim Dawn. That is actually what I am going to move to during this break. Although i'll likely read the forums for tid bits for PoE like normal.
Hahaha, I think Tinder was the single greatest invention ever. I use it all of the time. Success is a matter of effort on there. I never played Heart of the Swarm despite owning it so I'm going to finish that up real quick. Can't really play SC2 pvp too much simply because everyone plays the same. Although most top people play the same builds, it's fun at least trying out silly ones. I think when I come back i'm going to try my theory of dual fist/claws witch with serious cold/freeze chain. I know it would likely get me to mapping but not so sure on maps themselves. So right now, I decided to finish writing, Star Craft 2, Grim Dawn, and BJJ. Thanks for the inputs! |
