Is there any reason to quality arctic armor?
Like with a lot of gems... No real reason to quality it. To be honest, I'd say it should focus more on its reactive properties, such as, say, a 0.75% chance to freeze per point of quality.
" I'd considered it too; quality runspeed would be cool from a THEMING point... But would be pretty wildly overpowered. The current AA is horrifically useful and powerful as it is; adding on more would make it even more potent; the only balance fix would be to push the reservation ABOVE 25%, to at least 35%, if not higher; it'd basically be doing half of Haste's job for it. " WTF? Overpowered? I really hope you are joking....... German saying: Schönheit und Funktionalität in Sekundenschnelle zu ruinieren, ist dem wahren Dilettanten keine Herausforderung!

" Not in the slightest. Right now, think on what it offers: even at 13% less physical damage, that's a sizable chunk; given that it applies BEFORE armor, it works doubly well there. Throw on the 12% less fire damage... It's offering defense against a good chunk of elemental damage. Compare this to the OTHER defensive reservations; the fire part alone is almost on a par with Purity of Fire's +4% max resist... While for PoF, that's the aura's ENTIRE reason for existing... And costing 35% instead of 25%. Next, compare to to the mainline defense auras: Determination's 51% more armor will boost 50% damage reduction to... 60%, a 20% reduction... For TWICE the cost of Arctic Armour. Similarly, Discipline's +318 ES, even once you factor in increases, is likely NOT going to add more than 1k to your already huge ES stack... And again, for 35% of your mana. So, let's sum it up:
Yeah, right now, AA is actually very powerful; I personally think it's near-mandatory for EVERYONE. My guides: Summon Homing Missile (SRS) | Act II starter RF | Budget Oro's Flicker Strike

Purity of Fire works when you're moving; AA doesn't work when you're on the run.

You do realize Arctic armours "less damage taken"
is calculated last, after all defenses, armour, resists, etc It's not nearly as effective as you are citing. Last edited by Eron_TR#4286 on Feb 18, 2016, 6:12:45 AM
