New act 1 town music.
" Meh, music sounds awesome to me. I noticed it right away and was wowed. It is instantly more recognizable now which is great for a game. When you can get people to have songs stuck in their head from a town in your game, you are probably doing things right in my opinion. |

Remember there are two Lioneyes tracks at issue here, well 3 if you count the original.
1: Original 2: Right after the patch (sounding like D3 endgame music; full orchestral, very intense) 3: A couple hours later on the same day, #2 was replaced (in an undocumented hotpatch; was about a 8mb download) with what is there if you log in right now. #2 was horrid and afaik, what started these threads. #3 is much better, it has 3-4 segments in varying levels of intensity, including a piano overlay to the theme, an orchestral overlay, a bass underlay, and one that's very close to the original. I actually like this one even better then the original. |

" Full body chill @1:45, much improved track! | |

The new music sounds cool, obviously, but I really don't think it belongs in Act 1 town. The old music was perfect for that place. The new music should really be moved to some other area.

Agreed. It should be 'Town' music, not, 'I just slaughtered thousands of enemies and ripped off Piety's head while I stand over her bloody corpse' music.

Old Act1 town music > the new one. There is a lot more robustness and wildness involved in the melody of the old version, which makes the newer version sound tamed and fanciful - not quite fitting for how one would feel wet and faced with Wraeclast.
It's like Game of Thrones opening theme season 1 vs season 2 all over again. [Hardcore league]

In my opinion, New act 1 town music is not fit for the place, it's too intense..
Please bring back the old one! |

My biggest issue with the new music is that it has the same problem as Metroid Prime 2's "Temple Grounds" song. It has a long segment with a unchanging repetitive sound effect in it.
The problem is that the melody is interwoven with this unchanging sound effect so you gotta put up with the same dominant sound effect being heard every other second once it kicks in. Computer specifications:

" How could anyone not like this? It's just *so* awesome. Sure, though, it could start with this track, and then play some of the old version to maintain that atmosphere, and it actually might add a moodier touch to the end ... hold on, I think I just got an idea for an edit. :D Hopefully when the soundtrack gets re-released the tracks will run full-length instead of ending before they can really loop around. That was my issue with the original download; the music is great, but the tracks were just too short. Invited to Beta 2012-03-18 / Supporter since 2012-04-08
