I disagree with the suggestion simply because I believe portal gem is intended as a luxury item/comfort gem i.e. the added value is not something that is needed for gameplay; unlike most of the other vendor recipes which people generally use to advance their positions in game.
Additionally they are not useless, this is limited by imagination. For example, recently I converted my portal scrolls to transmutation orbs, which I then used in the vendor recipe for agate amulets, from which I made Voll's Devotion.. which sadly I then corrupted and lost: |
