Well, it seems that already at 74s you need to run 100%+ quantity, if you wanna see a marginal chance at +1 drop. That means full chisel, chaos spam for ~90 then add sac frags or roll Zana mods. Mapping has been made several times more expensive than before.

this new map system is absolutely fucking broken
got to lvl 89 in tempest with maps 70-73, played like 15 maps lvl 74 and maybe 4-5 maps lvl 75.... in maps lvl 73-75 all i get is maps lvl 68-70 that shit is so fucking lame and stupid, its worse then ever before.....wtf happened "we will lower the chance of lower maps droping in high maps" notice i say high since for me lvl 75 is fucking high atm....lol and another bullshit - bosses only droping +2 maps and some 20% flat garbage......in like 200 maps i played so far, i think i got maybe 3 maps +2 from bosses....fucking joke what it is oh well, for 1 hour that you invested in map system in whole beta i guess shit could have been worse creating useless uniques, jewels....thats were money is /end rant |

I had the feeling yesterday that map drops were improved... but maybe I was wrong. Found two +1 and a +2 in a 75 map, which was pretty nice. I might actually level to 91 this way, if the streak continues.
However, I think the entire way maps are dropped is screwed up at the moment. Remove Horticrafting station storage limit.

" I had almost exactly the same experience in Warbands - leveled to 89 doing mostly 72-73 , with odd 74. I feel the progression is totally messed up, because you can sustain 73s (and everything below it) just by Alc & go, while 74s (entry level into what GGG defines as "mid maps") turn everything on it's head, requiring you to roll for 100+ (chisel, chaos spam, sac frags..) if you want to see the 75 tier. The progression is not eased-in, but abruptly stopped & requiring you to spend a lot more orbs for the next step. Because of this, most people will fail to move onto 75s and just circle in the 72 - 74 range and will get severely frustrated. When night falls

like seriously wtf is happening in their heads....like before when i lost my map pool i would buy 10, 20, 50 maps, np really....all part of the game.....
but why would i now in fucking hell want to buy maps, when i am 100% sure i wont get anything out of them.....there is 0 hope to create map pool and enyoy high end game....as solo player this option is removed first they remove crafting via eternal orbs for end game players, then they nerf uniques that were strong and introduce 70 uniques that noone in their right mind would use, like they are all shit, and now they remove maps..... are they destroying their game on purpose....wtf? for those that dont want to re roll chars all the time, what is there to strive for anymore? crafting - no, high end maps- no, strong uniques - no, strong rares - no they should just sell their company , its going to hell i was always in love/hate terms with GGG, but now i am all in one..... |

Map system is BS. Always has been. Introduction of Masters/Zana was an improvement, but now there is 2.0 and we are right back to extreme BS.
RNG should not determine whether or not we can play in higher level maps. Time played, Gear found, Character build, and Player skill should determine this. I have also said this a bazillion times, if you kill the map boss you should be guaranteed a map of equal or greater level. Period. Hell for that matter I have said this before too. The system should be changed. Map drops should be made more rare and once you find them they should unlocked on that character. At this point, to run them you interact with the map device, choose the desired unlocked map, throw whatever currency you want at it to improve drops, etc., enter, and enjoy. With this, Time played, Gear found, Character build, and Player skill would determine whether or not you can play in the maps. |

Real talk time guys
to build a higher level base, chisel, alch, chaos spam for 2 of the following and preferrably 3 (pack size, >100 quantity, a good more magic monsters). ok we aren't done yet, now throw in a couple sacrifices ok now spend 4-8c on a zana mod did u just lose currency in the long run? probably, but this is how mapping is now. |

The game is designed to be fun leveling... the endgame is just a carrot on a very long stick.
By the time you realize that, you have already spent cash in the shop for supporter packs, stash tabs, etc. (the goal of every free to play game) The game is working as intended. Nothing lasts forever... level something else or realize the game is over for you. Not being facetious... I too have lost interest in the game. P.S. In order to not sound so negative Nancy and provide actual feedback... The answer is simple... every Map boss should guarantee drop a map of same level or higher. Maybe 70% chance to be same level, 25% chance to be +1 and 5% +2. Will it happen? Not a chance. In this area, GGG has the same fail philosophy as Blizzard. |
