Flasks and their ilvl

Hello,

I've been wondering and couldn't find a definitive answer anywhere - does a flask's ilvl affect anything about the affixes it gets? As far as I can see it doesn't, so you can actually spend your currency items as soon as you get any utility flask (since they don't come in different versions depending on place and difficulty), which is of course very different from e.g. belts, which also don't come in different versions, but they do get better affixes with higher ilvl.

Can anyone confirm this?
If you check the item mod databases found under game -> items, you'll see that flask mods range from level 1 to level 18. Items can only get mods that are the same level or below the item's ilvl, so to be able to get any possible mod, the flask needs to be ilvl 18+. The first quicksilver you get from the medicine chest on normal is probably too low level to get some of the mods you might want. Once you get a 13+ one, if you're able to get the mods you want on it, there will be no reason to change later.

Oh, and use baubles to upgrade a white flask to 20% before spending a transmute and alterations on it. White items gain +5% quality per quality increasing items, while blues only get +2%.

Edit: 13 -> 18, just noticed that "of warding" is listed under flask effects instead of flasks in the suffix list, and it's level 18.
