Rolling sockets
This item?
What are the chances of rolling 2 green and 2 red sockets on if it's even possible? Also what could be the chances of rolling 1green and 2 red OR 2green and 1 red AND then VAAL'ing the remaining blue socket into white? Or are there any other ways I could manage to get 2Red and 2Green sockets? |

It is certainly possible, but it is likely to require 100 to several hundred chromatics unless you are very lucky and RNGesus takes pity on you.
Those are pure energy shield gloves. ES is associated with blue sockets. Armor is associated with red sockets, and evasion is associated with green sockets. So you're more likely to get blue than the other colors. In order to roll 4 'off-colored' sockets, it's likely to take many chromatics. Trying to use a Vaal orb to get a white socket (after getting 3 red & green sockets) is even less likely than getting 4 total red & green. A Vaal orb can do many things besides yielding a white socket in a specific socket location. If you have Vorici's crafting bench in your hideout, it can help some by allowing you to pay a certain amount of Chromatics to achieve a specific result. For example, it may cost 25 Chromatics to guarantee you roll at least 2 red sockets. But you will then have to hope that the other 2 sockets roll green. You're likely to have to try that method many times. You can also guarantee 3 sockets of a specific color combination, but that costs something like 185 Chromatics, and you're still likely to have to do that more than once to get that 4th off-color socket. You best bet is probably to use vorici's crafting bench for 3 guaranteed colors until you get the 4th you want. Bank up them chromed before you start.

" Vorici is the best way, here http://siveran.github.io/calc.html It will cost you roughly 485 chromatics using vorici's 1r1g Dynamic Environment - Day/Night, Rain/Lightning - http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/110100

All we have is "rule of thumb". The accuracy of it is only good for an estimate. You're asking for four off colors which would give you about a 1 in 10000 chance (one 0 for each off color) of getting them in a specific order. Since there are six orders to get it, you have 6 in 10000, or .0006 chance of getting it. That implies that it should take about 1667 tries.
But that's not the way it's really done... just a close guess. To make it easier, you should try the crafting table and force two of the sockets to be red. That will likely be cheaper and far less frustrating in the end. But you're still going to be in the ballpark of 1600 orbs. One thing you really should be asking yourself... are these gloves worth the investment? They look pretty mediocre to me. Last edited by Shagsbeard#3964 on Jul 20, 2015, 2:40:18 PM
