Because if we can take off an gem in the 6l build we create more variety of builds.

It's not more variety, it's essentially more damage.

And I honestly think that the game doesn't need that at all right now.

Inc area nodes are very limited for a good reason.
I wish that there was more than just stacking inc aoe / inc projectiles to increase the coverage as much as possible and destroy everything on the screen but ..... that is another topic I guess.
