Dexterity and it's non-effect on dex based weapon damage
I'm still not clear as to why dexterity does not play a part in damage on weapons that have a base requirement of dexterity. Please enlighten me.
Also, I'm not clear as to why dexterity does not play a part in determing to hit, I know you have accuracy, but if I invest points into dexterity, I should get more than just evasion, after all, strength gives both health and melee damage..... Seems a little unfair that strength chars get two bonuses from their main attribute, but dex chars get left out in the cold. Also, if you want to stay true to the designs of games like D2, you would need to add this. It's all fun and games until someone pokes your eye out!

Dex does give accuracy.... it just goes way over the cap so most of it is wasted.

Ya, it does give accuracy, in a round about way, but for dex based weapons, it should increase damage too.

In theory, dexterity increases your DPS by making you hit more often, similarly to how intelligence increases your DPS by giving you more mana. They're indirect damage boosts.
They all give a defense boost (life, evasion, energy shield) and a DPS boost (physical damage, accuracy, mana). It'll just take some more balancing to make them all feel effective. Closed Beta/Alpha Tester back after a 10-year hiatus.

I see your point WhiteBoy, but it just doesn't feel right that it doesn't increase your damage %.
And if dex based classes end up with more than enough for accuracy, why doesn't it put the extra into damage? I mean if my % to hit is 100% and I put in more dex, it should benefit me. It's all fun and games until someone pokes your eye out!

Accuracy is currently capped at 95%... which is trivial to get. If they balanced it so a ranger won't cap out their primary stats, marauders would have a really hard time lol, and even more people would roll witches so they get 100% accuracy for free.
Accuracy is just a fail stat to have on a primary attribute... I don't think it'd ever work. IGN: Jerk, Princess

I think dexterity should increase your crit rate because if your more precise, you can target the enemies weak points.
