Taryn's Shiver vs +1,+2 Cold Gems Staff
Hi everyone im making an End Game ColdSnapper, and i want to know what its better a Taryn's Shiver or a rare Staff with +1 SG +2 Cold G

However, the staff has no bonus crit chance, and even though it was recently slightly buffed (emphasis on slightly) I would instead use something with said bonus. Crit is very important for a cold snapper after all. The Hyperbomber for 2.6: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1879383

Unfortunately Taryn's is a unique that gets beaten by an average rare staff. For its price you can get much better result from a rare staff.

With that said, last time I did the math the Shiver is still pretty good if your build has very few sources of increased damage. If you can stack up to ~200% increase damage from other sources though, even a +3 staff with no other mods would be better.
