Suggestions for playing PoE with one hand
Hi everyone do you have any suggestions how to play PoE with only one hand when you've broken your right wrist on The Awakening Release day. I'm asking for my friend who has done this to herself but is of course dying to join us in game.
Thanks in advance. IGN: Keewee

Tricky.
Assuming this is a real post, i've had challenges where I wanted to minimize my playstyle and avoid pots, keyboard useage, ect. Best suggestion is a super tanky build and just use your two mouse buttons. You will still die occasionally, but so far, it has worked surprisingly well. thanks to Sovyn for the build and the epically awesome work. https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/105920 |

Well, there are mouses out there with more than 10 buttons...

Thanks Lobo & P1mento - yes it is a real enquiry, maybe a gaming mouse in the left hand is the way to go.

On a more serious note, i'm sorry for your friend. A setup example, assuming you have a least 3 buttons : - main damage dealer (spell or melee) - movement skill - totem or another spell but as mentioned, there are mouses with more buttons than keyboards these days. |

I say this with total jesting in mind, but how hard was your friend playing that she actually broke her wrist playing release day =P
I'd say she's just a wee bit too hardcore hehe Last edited by Dreyloch666#2864 on Jul 16, 2015, 10:59:10 AM

Dual flame totem BM marauder might be okay. You need one button for totem, one for flammability and one for mobility skill. Focus on armor, life and life regen, use a shield. It's very tanky and you don't need to use flasks as often as other builds due to high regen.
Playing with only left hand for a right handed person will be a much bigger problem than picking a build though :). |

I've broken both wrists several times over the years and can't say it really impeded my PC gaming all that badly. I'm assuming it's a standard wrist cast that only covers the forearm and hand, with fingers fully exposed?
She could try a much smaller mouse that she could just grip with her fingers while her hand hovers over top. It takes some getting used to, and it's kind of tiring on the arm but I'd much rather tough it out than try to fumble around with a mouse in my left hand IGN: Smegmazoid Long live the new Flesh Last edited by JahIthBer89#0880 on Jul 16, 2015, 11:41:52 AM

I am the idiot in question who broke her right wrist. I can only move my index finger on the right hand with the cast. I will use my left hand for skills on the keyboard. I am left-handed. I figure I can place totems or summon or use arc or something similar. Unfortunately, I can't use a left-handed mouse. Years and years of using the right hand for scissors and mice have impeded my natural left-handedness. LOL THanks for you suggestions. I will now try to see if I can play at all like this.
