Berek's Grip question

Hi, I played PoE a few years ago and really liked it, but took a break due to burnout etc, etc.

Came back and saw that my had gone from 5% life/mana leech to 1%.

Since I've been gone for so long, I don't know if there was some kind of overall rework to leeching and survivability as a whole which balances out this massive drop, or if this item just got nerfed to the ground and I need a new sustain mechanic for my build.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
