dual strike vs double strike for claw life leech?
dual strike = 2 weapons at the same time.
double strike = a weapon 2 times. i know double strike will leech life 2 times. but what about dual strike with 2 claws? does it leech life 2 times? Last edited by rsthrsdj#2909 on Feb 11, 2013, 9:31:06 AM

with double strike, your striking with the main hand only and it will do so with a 30% damage reduction. while dual strike will hit with both weapons with no damage reduction.
in terms of life leeching you'll get life based on each hand's damage. they are calculated seperatly for this purpose. at least thats how I understand it. so in a dual wielding situation, double strike is best used if your off hand weapon deals less than 70% of your main hand's damage. (such as using a dagger in your off hand with weak damage but great bonuses) and you use dual strike when both weapons are fairly equal in damage. http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/120959 My guides

" i am not talking about damage at all. it is easy to understand the damage. i just want to know about life leech. (all weapons are same for sure!) 2 claws with dual strike vs 1 claw with double strike. i think both skills leech same amount of life. just damage is different. so i guess double strike is better for survivability with shield. there must be more shield skill.. i really love shield skills.. but i don't like tempest shield etc.. there must be life leech or physical attack shield or life regen or mana regen shield skill etc. i don't like elemental skills.. i saw there are many red gem skills for weapons. but there are only few skills for dagger and claw. there must be skills for dex, int melee weapons (green or blue gem. dagger, claw). |

ok i tested it.
actually i didn't need one claw and two claws. i just tested it with two claws becuz i could use double strike even if i equip two claws. (i have unique belt 2% life leech). double strike = 20 life - 20 life. dual strike = 20 life. dual strike doesn't leech life 2 times at the same time. it doesnt leech much life as double strike. |

" You probably used life gain on hit -support? On hit -effects happen only once with dual strike. If you have for example +12 life gain on hit on both claws, youll get the same amount with dual strike (because both claws hit). But if you have +4 life gain on hit somewhere else on your gear, it´ll only give that once. Dual strike probably does more damage, so if you use life leech, you´ll probably be better off using dual strike. If life gain on hit -gem --> double strike. IGN: N_Bohr

" i don't really understand what you said. simply say dual strike doesn't leech 2 times with 2 claws. and double strike does leech 2 times with a claw. i think you repeated same thing. and everyone knows dual strike does more damage. Last edited by rsthrsdj#2909 on Feb 12, 2013, 9:40:03 AM

" If you have a claw with +12 life on hit on your main hand and a claw with +12 life on hit on your offhand, both dual strike and double strike "leech" 24 life on each attack. If you use life gain on hit -support gem, only then is there a difference. (or if your offhand has a different LoH-value)
which is better, LoH or life leech?
If you use life gain on hit -support gem, double strike gives you it´s effect twice.
If you use life leech -support gem, dual strike is better, because you do more damage --> more life leeched. IGN: N_Bohr
