Also Avatar of Fire will convert Cold to Fire...
The DAG is: Phys -> Lightning, Cold, Fire, Chaos Lightning -> Cold, Fire, Chaos Cold -> Fire, Chaos Fire -> Chaos Loops are not allowed. |

Probably the first item (s)he suggested that isn't OP but have a problem with loop hole conversion. :D
Possible solutions: -remove the conversion from fire to cold (it's not because we want to nerf it, it's because you have a loop hole converting back and forward between cold and fire) -add a modifier which disqualifies conversion from cold to fire Cannot convert cold damage to fire damage This only works because Cold can only convert to fire (or chaos which is below fire in the hierarchy) alternative: Cannot convert non-fire damage to fire damage Which would probably even work when the hierarchy would be a different one. The first one is better (for the user) because it would still allow physical damage to be converted to fire damage. (There seems to be no lightning to fire damage conversion.) The easiest fix is to change the illegal conversion to a fire-to-chaos conversion, change the increased Cold Damage to increased Chaos Damage, and replace "Cannot equip Pyre" with "Your Chaos Damage can Chill."

" But then the damage won't freeze, cold penetration will do nothing, cold damage modifiers (passives, gear, gems, etc.) won't help, elemental weakness and frostbite turn useless and the result is chaos not cold. Probably not what the poster wanted. |

" ... For now. You can't just blacklist the entire world. It's not future-proof, so every new addition to the game would need to possibly update this ring. That's a lot of technical debt for not a great reason. --- Re: convert to chaos and add chaos can chill (or freeze), that's kinda cool. It's mostly cool because of its interaction with Voltaxic. Can the same damage type produce multiple elemental effects in the game engine? I'm really not sure since it's never been possible before. At best, 3D just rotates the elemental effects triangle -- it's a 1:1 mapping, not an onto mapping. |
