You physical, elemental, or both? You pick both physical and elemental nodes. Usually you do one or the other. You hardcore or softcore?

Well wild strike goes off of physical, and converts 60% to elemental, so I do go physical and the only reason I take elemental is for the 2% penetration

its only a projectile attack if used with a bow/wand. it only says projectile and attack to notify you that it can be used with essentially all weapons. wand and bow can also use that skill, much like how elemental hit was, and frenzy is. i imagine it can be used with a bow/wand anyway.

it can also refer to the bolts of lightning that will come off of a lightning atk. the attack is still melee but the bolts are actually projectiles, much like lightning strike and how frost blades will be

I meant the elemental stuff. It says arcing bolt of lightning (projectile most likely), icy wave (projectile most likely), and fire explosion (probably a fireball exploding and other 2 are probably projectiles so this probably is also). That still would be 60% of your dmg increased by a 50% more multiplier which is huge. The route is also on its way to thick skin and deadly dilettante.

To me, it makes the most sense for the lightning effect to be akin to Arc (chaining), the cold to be like Freezing Pulse or Arctic Breath (projectile), and finally the fire to be like discharge (AoE).

I think a lot of people are overthinking this skill. You stack physical, 60% of which will be converted to an element and subsequent skill effect doing that same 60% of the original hit's damage.
I'm using this tree for a dual wield physical critic wild strike in Warbands (so SC). Level 50 now and it looks quite promising: act4 end boss was easy, even with crappy gear.


Lot of attack speed and physical damage increase make sure you have enough damage, and critical chance/multiplier help applying aliments consistantly (shock + freeze is quite nice).

For defense, I don't have dodge but I do have lot of life, eva, resist and block node. Should be more than enough with mobs freezed :)

It's a lvl 100 tree, but many things can be left out, like phys dmg, attack speed, movement speed, leech or even block (it's obviously not a max block build, it just help with eva and armor).
I also have only one jewel socket in my tree as I don't know if much jewels will be good, but there more 3 sockets near the tree (would only cost 7pts for all 3).

If anyone can help making a lower level tree that still have enough dmg/def, please do! :)
