So...about Piety...

What the hell is Piety doing?

I mean I get that Act3 final dungeon looks the way it does because we need to know how bad and evil Piety is. But, what the hell is she doing? I mean she got piles and piles and piles of dead guys, some of them having been turned into those 'miscreations'.

But like, I get we need to know how bad she is, but c'mon? Isn't it a little over the top? I mean, she seems to have killed so many people for no other reason than to stack them up, impale them or strap them to boards just so we can see how evil she is.
Like, Piety is obviously a person from Oriath who has some sort of murky endgame in relation to her operations on Wraeclast, why would her first thought on how to accomplish these goals be 'LET'S MURDER EVERYONE!'? I mean, she's killed so many people she has no idea what to even do with them, and if the rivers of blood are anything to go by, she's murdered A LOT more people then we see on the screen.

I don't by any means think anything should be changed, this thread is more intended as a semi-humorous observation, the Lunaris Temple 3rd level looks awesome (even if those piles of bodies do kinda make me feel like I'm walking through Dachau or Auschwitz).
My point sort of is, it seems almost clear to me that the GGG Art guys went for a 'Diablo2 Act4'-sorta vibe for this particular level, they even share the same overall color scheme, and that's alright Diablo2 hell was evil and scary looking, and it made sense that it'd look that way (I mean it it's fucking HELL). But Lunaris Temple Level 3 just seems unnecessarily gory, it's a complete change in tone from the more subtle other parts of the game.

I always get the niggling feeling that scientists would rather NOT spoil their labs with loads of dead bodies, even as decoration.

I think an offshoot of the map containing all the "failed" malcreations stacked in a pile in front of a furnace instead of having random bodies clogging up her work area would be more realistic.

Right now the oceans of blood and random bodies is rather over the top. She is Piety, researcher of death and torture, not Khorne.

Stop trolling

She's harvesting souls from the bodies so she can make new skill gems out of them. You need a lot of souls to make a stable skill gem, so that's why there are so many bodies in Lunaris Temple.

Not to mention what we have seen so far is NOT the end of Act 3....its just currently the end of Act 3 for us they have more coming in the future before Act IV :)

Piety has a strong background in QA

She did A LOT of parallel testing for her project.

What I am wondering about his Piety's motivations, I mean killing that many people takes a lot of work, and since she brought those Blackguard fellows someone is funding her.

I don't know how the finances of Oriath function, but I doubt you could find anyone to fund you if your endgame was "I want to kill EVERYONE and fill rivers with their blood." I mean unless this Dominus fellow is a real twisted fellow.


Like I said, mostly humorous observations, not really complaining.

She's merely following the path of Dominus , maybe hoping she would become his chosen.

Some people sacrifice to Belze-bubba,others dedicate their victims to Lucid Sphere, others do their evil deeds to gain the graces of Khorne, or better yet Dominus.

I like the screaming and dead bodies. It's... Beautiful.
