Malachai's Artifice and Elemental Equilibrium

Malachai's Artifice states that socketed gems have elemental equilibrium. So if I socket a lightning gem and cast it, lightning resist goes up and fire + cold are reduced. What happens when I cast a fire spell? Is EE triggered again, with fire resist increased and lightning reduced?

No, just the skill in artifice has EE so the effect will remain until it expires.

actually thats the whole point of this ring: to trigger EE only with the skill socketed in it
