Item Loot-timer Improvements
So, as the title says
i and many of my friends are very upset about the Loot-timer on items that dropp especially in public games where all gets ninjad that passes these 3 sec treshhold (or is it a bit longer? i dont think so) Well i have had an idea of making it not happening this often. Lets say, we take the 3 s timer for blue's 5 secs for yellows and a 10 secs for uniques like a growing timer with increasing rarity the same could apply to orbs/mirrors Would be prtty funky, as i lost already soooo many items (both uniques, yellows and orbs) due to a sudden FPS dropp from lightning/summoner spamm or be it an lagspike Best Regards Thuralion Kitava have mercy on your soul. it's not a bad idea but it won't fix most of the perceived problems with loot. fixing FPS would probably be ideal for you and i'm sure GGG will work something out for that - whether its disabling friendly effects or something else
protip: disabling chat and using Z to toggle off old items increases FPS a ton Want to Fix the Economy, Bad Loot, Trade and Legacy PvP? pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/548056

I would like the loot timer extended myself. Trying to stick with the people zerging in the lead is a pain when you're a squishy witch. I've seen rares and one unique in my name ninja'd because I was not able to run through the mobs between me and it while the melee were right on top of it waiting for the very short timer to end.

Hasn't there been enough topics on this? There are people for and against changing the loot. I personally am against it and I play ranged. You win some, you lose some. People get mad over loot they lose, but can you honestly say you have NEVER taken an orb/gear with someone else's name on it when the timer ran out?

i find this more important than u can think vixien, and i would like to see some movements made in this direction
or lets say to be able to change the loot "etiquette" for a party opened, atleast when u're the leader Kitava have mercy on your soul.

what are the drawbacks of increasing the loot timer, that way everybody gets the things that dropped for him and there wouldn't be 3 people camping the item until timer runs up? Maybe more people would be willing to play in a party with strangers then aswell

Completely agree. I cant count how many times Ive died and missed Killing Piety in a group because of being paranoid about needing to be close to snatch my loot drop.
The current system is SHIT for players using squishy characters like the witch. I don't know the logic for the PMs/Designers making the decisions here, but this seems like a P0 problem to me that needs fixing NOW. My current game experience with POE is this (should sound familiar): I frantically run with the party, paranoid about my loot being taken if I lag behind at all (and it still happens, especially when the screen is busy with creeps and spells everywhere). I die half the time when trying to kill elites, because I have to run up close to try to get my loot when its low on health. After 15-30 min of gameplay, I'm stressed, frustrated, and quit the game (until next time). The fun gameplay is still a draw, but its steadily being outweighed by the frustration of this shit loot-drop system. |

The devs' thoughts on the loot system are explained here. Please leave feedback on the loot system in that thread.
