They removed the chained girls on the orbs!!!! maaan wtf

I find it disheartening to see how everyone is requesting an "option" to have the old UI returned. It's almost like we're Diablo 3 players begging Blizzard on our knees to make the smallest decision possible in our favor.
Screw that. Keep the old UI the default. Make the new UI optional. If you're going to start ignoring your playerbase GGG, you're in for a long hard fall. Player since closed beta 2012. Full system specs: https://pastebin.com/c4rvbvSR

" I think most people have realized by now that in most industries, be it music, movies, or videogames, at some point it becomes more about business than about what the person buying the product actually cares about. So by that ideology it's already a done deal. I am sure that it is likely that the number of players who dislike women chained up equated to more $$$ money than the number of players who loved the chained women ui, even if like myself those players spent money on multiple supporter packs. I always find myself amongst a minority group with what I like. In before people start talking about salt again. Zzz. |

" Still it should be very easy for them to just give us an option to choose our UI theme from the options menu. That way they could satisfy everyone. Forcing this change on us is a really bad move. Edit: Also I'm 100% sure the people who get upset by things like this are just a very vocal minority that no dev should listen to. All of the women I've introduced to PoE just thought the orb girls were "cool" or "sexy". The dumb is strong in this one Last edited by gesichtspalme#6841 on Jul 1, 2015, 3:06:38 PM

" No chance. And I don't think GGG thinks so either. They probably genuinely think this new UI is better, which is worse really... My supporter items: Victario's Charity and The Forsaken

I'm..... well I just don't understand how some people could get upset about a small ui change like that o.0. I likt the new one btw it's sick it's fitting the grim ambiance of act 4

" I don't think this was due to any player outcry (no vocal minority or majority involved). Some of the new markets GGG is entering, have differing standards of what is considered taboo, which is an perfectly normal thing. Those markets may not demand a different UI, but the old UI might put PoE in a negative light. Given that games have existed long before with customizable UIs/skins, it would make far more business sense for GGG to have some options. Some people will want even more skulls and a darker UI. Some will want gore and blood. People are generally fond of options, otherwise we would all be playing the same game on the same brand of PC, using the same OS, while wearing the same clothing style. The new orbicons really don't seem to fit the lore either. Kaom and Hyrri would be better than a skull and a lion head. The one thing they do accomplish is minimize the amount of screen space taken up. Piety's story http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2081910

I strongly dislike this change because the chained ladies set the tone for the game instantly. It kept it in the back of your head that this is a dark fantasy game, you will see gore, you will see nudity (which personally I don't see what the fuss is about) and unsettling imagery. It's a little bit outside most people's comfort zone and this is a good thing.

I didn't expect, GGG to submit to the feminist minority who don't even play their game. I was so hyped to come back for act 4, fuck this, I won't come back, and you all should do the same. If you don't show game devs that listening to them is a bad idea the hard way, they'll continue, and the next game you'll find entertaining will probably follow the same road.

As a gameplay perspective I'm assuming they had to change it since Energy Shield is now layered on the Mana Orb. The Chained Lady covered too much.
As another option though they could have just "Re-Added" the old UI as a MTX Item. Just another Forum Signature in a Sea of Signatures.
