Who has the OLDEST character in POE?

This thread got me wondering what age my oldest existing character would be ....so I checked. =p

It's the only older type character I have as I just recently re-installed POE,converted all my old HC characters to SC and deleted all but that one.The few other characters I have were made specifically to test the game and my Laptop compat/performance in POEs current state .... and to prepare for Awakening.


Not much to offer from a 2010er,sorry about that but that's the nature of GGGs target audience. lol

I feed her the best seeds and worms Wraeclast has. I'd even feed her small fish if I ever had a damn fishing pole! With all the ocean surrounding Wraeclast there must be some good fishing spots. Damn you Chris for not giving us a means to fish (white Roah feathers indeed) and just trolling us in the forums (no fish here). ☺

Actually,that's amusing,all my HC converts were mauled by bears in that very same area ...... lol

EDIT: And being a hardcore mode fanatic for decades ... I winced and felt every hit the characters took until death,finally letting out a sigh of relief on the final blow.Dying on purpose felt very unnatural and went against my grain,it was like listening to fingernails being dragged across a chalk board. lol

This was asked a while back and Chris posted that he had a few characters to reserve certain names that were created before any of the players could access the game. He got a little flack for that, but nothing major.

My oldest character is probably my templar. I'd say he is in his sixties? Maybe late fifties.

I must have deleted my oldest, I did play on day one. This one is still in HC lol, not bad.

This is my first ever character I rolled in PoE on the Public Weekend 3 test back on 29 July 2012.

Got to A3M in Standard (or Default as it was known) then switched to Hardcore. After leaving this character in the mid-60s for the past 2.5 years I equipped her with some ripped gear and got some levels during this long offseason.

Pre-0.10.0 Closed Beta characters were kept and moved into Open Beta with all gear wiped. I'm sure there are some older than mine out there as CB players would have wanted to hang onto their names.

If you made a character when Open Beta 0.10.0 started 23 January 2013 you'd have a character 884 days old today.

Uhm, what? Wasnt all characters deleted when open beta launched? My memory is shit so I dont remember that far back.

Edit: I started googling and found some info that is probably true, about the closed beta characters being reverted to level 1 for name reserving. I guess my chars were on standard so I deleted them to remake them on hardcore on open beta or something then.

No they wiped your gear and reset your character to level 1 so that you could keep your name.

I'll check when I get home tonight but I doubt I have any characters over 300 days even if I have been playing since January 2013 (so ~900 days would be possible). Whenever I get to level 80-85 with a build, I start over with a new one. 95% of the time, I delete the character to keep a name or just because I know I won't play them again. I've probably deleted "Namcap" over 20 times already. Only one I've kept for more than a couple months is my EA Marauder. I keep him as reminder of how terrible my gear was back then and yet I was destroying maps faster than most of my newer builds.
