Strongbox Lag Fix

Problem:

When you open a strongbox, you are often frozen by lag due to so many graphical elements loading at the same time along with all of their spell effects and movement animations. Often this can cause your death.

Solution:

1. When you open a strongbox, you are frozen in place, cannot attack or cast and are immune to damage for 4 seconds.

2. When you open a strongbox, creature graphics appear, are frozen in place, cannot attack or cast and are immune to damage for the same 4 seconds as the player. During that time the game could also load their next actions to save on resource usage when the game reaches step 3 below.

3. When the timer reaches zero, you and all of the creatures regain your movement and lose your immunity to damage. There should be far less lag at this point. Game on!

Or, do they already have an incoming fix for this that I am not aware of? :)

TLDR; (Not that this was a long post, but here is the summary) To fix strongbox lag, once you open a strong box, you and the creatures cannot move, attack or damage each other for 4 seconds. When the 4 second timer disappears you can each attack each other as normal.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul...

Problem: I like to ignite and elemental proliferate nearby non Strongbox enemies. The burn would already run off.

Players can loose their charges.

ANYTHING THAT HAS A DURATION could run off...

True, but what good is any of that if you are dead when the lag wears off? :) *shrug*

Maybe that doesn't happen to you, but it happens to a metric ass ton of people.

It happens to me too. Pretty often. Especially when there is not much space (small rooms).

A proper solution would not go "okay, some of these builds can now work fine, but for others? Screw you."

That is, in fact, keeping things largely the same, as currently, strongboxes are viable for the (otherwise useless) tanky, non-glass-cannon builds, as they can readily shrug off a few seconds of being attacked.

freeze could work but is a half asses mechanic i would go with another one say giving strong boxes 2 stages

stage 1 the crafting: in here we craft the strongbox, once we have the mods we want we click to open it, the box wont open but it will start loading the monsters inside, once the monsters are loaded the box enter second stage

stage 2, opening: we can now open it with another click.

I have a deep respect for GGG's decision to not allow any graphics to be turned off, but I'm a little flustered by their stance on refusing to allow graphics to be turned low.

In any case, that, and/or better hardware, is the real fix.
