how does that eternal burgonet have a gladiator skin? Can corrupting something do that? (I've corrupted 100s of items and never noticed that)

I wish the first time a user uses a vaal orb that it would tell them they are about to possible ruin their item. I have a friend who came back to the game after awhile, and he vaal'd his legacy FBs and bricked them.

The vaal orb description says "Vaal Orbs are a currency item that will corrupt an item, modifying it unpredictably. Corrupted items cannot be modified again."

kind of, you can still modify the links/socket colours.
Other than corupted items, just regular old 3-6 mod rares:
Seems like I heard GGG was looking at making something to allow players to remove a stat. Can't remember where I heard/read it. Maybe on the podcast? Or maybe it's just someone's wish item from reddit?
I realize there isn't something to do this right now. But...
Where there's one they're bound to divide it right in two.

Theoretically at least; but the cost in Vaal orbs is prohibitive for anything other than extreme high end items; and even then forget about a 6 link or a 4 link with weird colors.
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, weighing all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

... except by Vorici.

Edit: and Zana, since an added map mod is... an addition/modification.

so i can remove that add with vorici?
No, you can NEVER remove a mod from a corrupted item. But they are modifiable with masters. You can change sockets, links, and colors.
