Please, PG mode...
I am so frustrated that there is no option to turn off (replace models) of nudity and extreme gore. I really want to play this with my kids. We have been through all the Diablo games, torchlight 2, dungeon siege 1 & 2. (yes these have a little gore and nudity, but nothing like POE) They see how awesome the skill tree is and the open ended game-play but to them its always have to graphic. I am begging you GGG, I would be happy to pay for a micro transaction that simply replaced the nudity / extreme gore with other 3d models. you have a great game here, just not everyone gets to experience it.
I am sure this has been mentioned before, I just cant tell you how much this breaks my heart. If anyone knows where this may have been officially responded to, please let me know. I cant seem to find it anywhere. Last edited by rasnsasnberry#1241 on Jun 9, 2015, 1:17:24 PM

So you're fine with all the violence and killing , but some boobies and extra blood is traumatizing for your kids?

" I have to agree with this. It is perfectly fine exploding humanoids, decapitating a head, maiming, killing and slaughtering all kinds of things, god forbid a child sees a part of the human body tho. It makes me sad that violence is perfectly fine in games and movies can show people getting blown to bits but god forbid a bit of human anatomy. " I am not proud of it, yes, my kids are used to depictions of violence. I play this game, none of it bothers me. My kids are young teenagers, and depictions of nudity DO make them uncomfortable. They don't want to see it. We actually started the game together and everything was fine until the nudity came up. Look, I am asking about a design change. I do see your point of view, however, GGG has 2 potential customers who wont/don't play because of the design of the game. I just wanted GGG to know that. |

No...grow up, both you and your children, you see worse on TV, and i'm prety sure the kids would have already seen way worse in the internet.

Attacking -> Tickling
Killing -> Cuddling Screams -> Laughter Gore -> Flowera and Bunnies But the nudity is fine. Think of it this way, parents: you're sending a much more positive message about the body (I.e., not violence or shame) when you change its context. Could you imagine Crematorium (Tickleposium?) and later Solaris 2-3? Devolving Wilds

Its a Fantasy Action RPG!
I mean this game and its depictions are much more tame than the ones in real life! Why would breasts or any kind of nudity bother anyone anyway? Its just the human form without clothing! Why is that bad? How does that even provoke negativity or sensitivity? Because it shouldn't! It isnt enough that Developers have to put warning labels and Age Ratings on their games that they have things like you describe... now they need to alter their content as well? On what grounds should they? Because nudity makes you and your family uncomfortable? Doesn't sound to me like GGG is the one with the issue here! There is a fine line between Consideration and Hesitation. The former is Wisdom, the latter is Fear. Last edited by Demonoz#1375 on Jun 9, 2015, 4:43:30 PM

this has been discussed many times.
"PG mode" is unlikely to happen in a game like this. Torchlight 2 is perhaps the most "family friendly" of the lot in terms of graphics, and it too has its share of blood and limbs flying around. Path Of Exile is darker in atmosphere. more tuned towards the horror part than the fantasy one. just look at a specific level in Lunaris Temple. the creatures of blood coming out to attack you. the women who maybe are offensively-nude, if you try really hard to ignore their freakish, mutilated body, which has tentacles growing out of it... one example out of literally a thousand. and it fits the theme. it's part of the story of "I must stop the bitch who did this". you can't tone this down, without losing much of the game's essence. not to mention create a gigantic coding effort for GGG at re-designing... everything. It would be nice to have available MTXs that change the way some monsters look on your screen. The base of the idea has nothing to do with nudity, though.
For example, you could sell smaller versions of the boss skins for normal monsters, and give out low effects versions of the exiles for people that have low quality computers. And, for prudes, you can put more clothed versions of the monsters. My only concern with nudity in the game is that none of the female statues seem to have any clothing, while most of their male counterparts have togas. It would be nice to have some (even a small amount) of the female statues wearing clothes, at least to get a better grasp of their society's dress codes. |
