Some annoying and needless things in PoE
Just a quick feedback thread about some of the issues I stumble over most often that really do not really serve a purpose (or even defeat it) or are completely unnecessary. These are not necessarily "big problems", but rather those annoying little things that could be smoothed out for an overall better playing experience. Feel free to add your own.
1) Strongbox spawns and especially "freeze on open" Strongbox spawning is still a bit awkward. The tempo in which they spawn is a bit high and in some crowded spaces, you get stuck right in the middle of all of them - which is pretty brutal when playing primarily ranged characters. It would feel less often like "well, guess I had no chance there" if the spawns were drawn out just a bit more and, more importantly, started later (currently they spawn something like .1 .2 .3 seconds - why not make them spawn something like .5, .7.5, 1.0 seconds after clicking? that way one could actually position oneself a bit and not get stuck right in the middle of 30 mobs, and it would also clear the spawn lag problem). The rare mod that freezes you on opening is just stupid. It serves no purpose besides being a massive gear check (or, for most players, the question of wether 20% current xp are worth the contents of the box). It forces the problem the spawn lag inadvertadly introduced into the game on purpose, usually resulting in a death. That mod needs to go. Its not interesting, you cannot counterplay it (besides being overgeared and able to just tank through it), its frustrating. 2) Shard conversion and item placement in inventory Simple example: You have 4 scroll pieces, sell two blue items, and get a new scroll and an excess piece. The new shard goes on the first open space in the usual sort order (left to right, filling columns first if possible) instead of staying right where the shards were one second before - instead, the new scroll lands where the pieces where before. Happens the same way with the other shard stuff. When they transform, the full currency item goes on the slot the shard stack was and the new shard stacks get placed as if they were just picked up. Instead, it should be the other way round. Changing this would save tons of needless clicks and reorganization. 3) Sometimes, doors are hard to open Especially with mobs "under" them, it is sometimes very hard to simply open a door. You have to carefully navigate the mouse cursor to find the small spot where the door is highlighted and not some mob or loot or nothing before clicking. Please enlarge the hit boxes of closed doors quite a bit and/or give them priority over mobs and loot. 4) Sometimes you have to open your stash to be able to buy with stuff in it Sometimes when exchanging currency items to clear up room, I have to open the stash before going to the corresponding vendor, or the items are redded out because I do not have the required stuff in the character inventory. As said, this fixes itself by opening the stash once and then trying again, but this should not be needed. 5) Sometimes chat activates itself I have a feeling it must be some key combo accidentaly pressed when misstyping /oos. Some kind of typo seems to reactivate the global chat. Can we change that somehow? There is already a button for this and a setting in the options, that should suffice. Similarly, sometimes I see a single line of green trade spam - usually it is just a single line or two, as if I had been in trade chat for a split second. No idea what causes this, perhaps happens on zone switch. Those where the ones I could think of for now, all of these happened during my latest 10 hours of play, most of them multiple times. Would be cool if some or all of these could get fixed sometime around or after 2.0. This thread has been automatically archived. Replies are disabled.

If this is quick feedback idk what you would consider long feedback to be :D
1) Strongboxes are from Ambush league, if they had a super long delay that always allowed for you to position yourself well outside the realm of risk it would defeat the purpose of being ambushed by monsters. Think of the strongboxes as a treasure chest you know is trapped, but you want to take the risk of opening it to get the loot. Ever since they added the delay to stagger the monsters i've never had an issue with strongboxes that weren't specifically desync, then again I rarely have issues with desync so my experiences are much different then a lot of players. 2) The shard thing has been mentioned here quite a bit, I think the argument has something to do with players losing track of the currency they have if it auto stacks the way you are requesting. I personally have never really had an issue with the shard system. ![]() ![]() In the first picture you see in the top left some partial orbs\currency I always just click those over to the stash after I sell items and if they complete an orb I click them back over to my character inventory on the second picture. I will note I need to organize my currency stash tab and remove the extra eleron\master weapons, but currently only logging into regular PoE to do master quest. 3) Yes doors can be a PITA, I don't think anyone can disagree with that. 4) I don't think i've had that issue. I know the first 4 tabs is where vendors look for currency items in order to convert\buy them from vendors. Have you by chance purchased more tabs and or move yours around? 5) Chat is activated by hitting the symbol associated with its chat channel. For example if you hit # key global gets activated, $ trade gets activated, & (i think its that one) and guild chat gets activated. The green zone spam you see is people in a local instance, for example Act 3 merciless town. You can't block all local messages only ignore people that spam. As far as I know the only one really being addressed in this list are doors. https://youtu.be/T9kygXtkh10?t=285

" Since they changed the spawning, I don't really see this as an issue. However, none of my machines have a slow drive, and that can make a difference. " Yes. " Also yes. These are two little annoyances that aren't a big deal, but when you put in a lot of time, they can agitate. " I've never noticed this one. Maybe it has happened, but I can't recall it. Have you removed Asus ROG/GameFirst yet? |

1) GGG needs to work a little bit more on the loading times of strongbox content, especially Rogue Exiles, which are the most troublesome screen freeze inducing content.
As for the mod that freezes you when you open the box, you are supposed to either have something to unfreeze you, or be able to get out of harm's reach despite the effect, or be able to tank the box, or reroll the mod. There are plenty of solutions, and, like any other mod, if you don't have any of the required solutions, you can reroll it. I understand that for your build it may be a hindrance, but for most it's not an issue at all, at least not even close to the issues the loading of an exile can cause. |

" My Quicksilver flask removes freeze and makes me immune. " This has driven me insane many times. I made a thread about it last weekend out of utter frustration at the millionth time I tried to open a door with quicksilver running out only to sit there for 5 seconds clicking on the mobs behind the door. The answer was it is fixed in 2.0, however I have not yet claimed my key to find out. Last edited by Shinare#4581 on Jun 9, 2015, 12:50:44 PM
