[Beta 2.0] Ice + Shock Nova CoC

I have been testing Cyclone CoC with the new Ice Nova and Shock Nova in beta.
I am level 84 now and clear speed is very good. Single target a bit slower but not too bad.

Cyclone - Cast On Critical Strike - Ice Nova - Shock Nova - Life Leech

6th link would be Fortify in Hardcore or a damage gem in Softcore

I am using a 5l rare chest because I cant find anyone selling a Lightning Coil in beta.
I use one mana flask now because my gear is bad and mana is problem on bosses. In maps I get mana on kill from Assassins Mark. Mana should not be a problem with better gear. I only have some mana regen from the tree and nothing on my gear right now.

Herald of Thunder - Curse on Hit - Assassins Mark

Herald of Ice - Culling Strike - Innervate - Ice Bite

Ice Bite give me Frenzy charges and Innervate give me Onslaught when I kill a chocked or frozen enemy with Herald of Ice. I have Frenzy charges and Onslaught up most of the time in maps.

I dont have everything yet and cant link from beta but here is the gear I would use

Vagan Dagger
Rat's Nest
Lightning Coil
Rare gloves or Maligaro's Virtuosity
Rare shield or Saffell's Frame
Atziri's Step
Rest of the gear rare with mana regen on the rings

Vagan's Skean/Royal Skean

Vagan daggers with 27% crit crafted

Vagan's Skean
8.38% cc 1.45 aps = 0.122 crit/sec

Vagan's Poignard
8% cc 1.5 aps = 0.12 crit/sec


Vagan's Slaughter Knife
8.38% cc 1.4 aps = 0.117 crit/sec


Vagan's Fiendagger
8.89% cc 1.2 aps = 0.107 crit/sec

For those wanting to try a 2 hander variant ive made the exact same build with a staff scion, one advantage is having the option for another 5-6 slot for single target dps. Im using sweep as the triger which crits morr than cyclone and because i am stationary when casting i am also able to use AA.

What do you think about the new added dmg for spells mod on daggers?

On live you cant craft spell damage on daggers so a lot harder to craft a dagger.
I like the new spell damage. Right now you can only craft spell damage and 1% leech prefixes.
In a longer league I would buy Vagan daggers and regal until I hit something good before multi modding.

Yes... I had been doing Vagan's missions for 2 weeks now - not a single fucking dagger so far.....

To OP - why didn't you take Doom Cast? Drop Throatseeker for it. It's much better to have consistent crits rather a small dmg increase on crits.

Also, why no frenzy charges? They give insane damage increase, and you can get 6 of them in total including master reward.

I dont undertand why you take Anhilation or like guys above me want Doom cast? I crit with meele skill (cyclone) not spell. It's not worth. And the same wit Elemental equlibrium... you can take it and with fire damage on cyclone you have i get extra bonus.

What is your Crit chance on cyclone? For me also Mathill Fakener passive tree looks better for this build.

You don't understand how the build even works then.

You deal around 3-5 times more damage on crit spells vs non-0crit ones depending on your gear, not trying to get high spell crit chance is just plain wrong.

Only for enemies which you hit with Cyclone. Ice Nova / SHock Nova range is much larger. All enemies outside of the range of Cylclone will always be hitting higher resistances which reduces dps.
