Sorry, that I pointed you in a wrong direction. The newest wine version only means that your card will be shown correctly.
Unfortunately this doesn't mean that it is the best choice for running poe.

With recent versions, the only bug in wine is an FPS slowdown which can be alleviated with a patch. The patches are being posted as attachments here:

Hi,

I managed to get poe working with wine 1.7.41 without flickering or blackscreen.
The graphic adapter is detecteted correctly and i am able to resize the window without crashes.

But now i do not have shadows anymore and the scene is a bit dark. :)



Any ideas?

I switched back to wine 1.7.27 even though the wrong display-adapter is detected and i cannot resize the window.

With versions 1.7.41/42 there are no shadows and screen is flickering sometimes.

i compared wine 1.7.27-poe with wine 1.7.42 using the same following registry-entries:

Advantages of wine 1.7.27: better shadow-behavior, no flickering, higher FPS
