Minara Anemina needs to be deleted

She's stupidly hard for 2h users only (surprise, surprise!), while ppl with max block or ranged chars just eat her for breakfast.

" max block does not beat her, unless you count attempting to block her summons' attacks (without using counterattacks) while killing her exclusively with single target attacks followed leaving the zombies alive indefinitely (because they won't expire via time) as 'eating her for breakfast'. You can't block Minion Instability, it's secondary damage. Secondary damage is not attack damage or spell damage, it can't be avoided via block/spell block or dodge/spell dodge. Only ways to deal with secondary damage is soaking it with health/es and resists or by not being hit, and with how strong her MI is, even resists (short of carrying a RotP to go with a ruby flask) aren't good enough. I don't know of a melee build whose cost is comparable to a puncture trapper that can kill all rare/exile/boss with relative ease. If there was an exile who used flicker strike indefinitely with decent damage, ranged players might call for the exile's deletion. On the other hand most melee characters would be able to handle the exile. I think this shows how “ranged” oriented PoE currently is and has been for as long as I can remember. The countless times I mistook my MTX pet for prey... huehehehe

I know Minara is the worst but I don't think she should be removed from the game. There is a way to kill her with melee builds without hurting yourself from the minion instability.

Bitch is worth it for melee, only if doing her with well fed chars, capable to tank minions, while kicking her ass nice and fast with the high damage of the single target skill.
Though, she will still remain a problem in narrow spaces and if fight takes time, so she will manage to spawn a full screen of freaks. Then run. Undergeared chars better run straight away. In general, run. This is a buff © 2016

A level 20 Glacial Hammer inked with a 20/20 Increased Duration gives you 7.569 seconds (11.484 if you have all the duration nodes) to have a private chat with Minara. Granted most people will not have a leveled Glacial Hammer and Minara might still be able to summon some minions inside the ice ring. * Conversion Trap + Multiple Traps and optionally + Increased Duration + * If you do decent physical damage and use a shield. Single target Shield Charge in, shift + Shield Charge out. Rinse and repeat. * Similar to Shield Charge, single target Flicker Strike in, Leap Slam/Shield Charge/Whirling Blades(Dangerous!) out. Rinse and repeat. Most if not all these solutions require you to do one or a combination of: - going back to town - wasting a map portal to go back to town - wasting alternate weapon set sockets (not recommended) - wasting sockets on the rest of your gear (not recommended) - wasting inventory space for the gems required and possibly extra gear due to socket color incompatibility - etc. The fact remains that most ranged players don't have to do any of the above. " Its because of your DPS/HP. Player DPS is way higher than monster DPS, so you kill minions really fast, triggering lots of explosions. Player HP is also way lower than monster HP, so incoming damage also seems so much more. Of course it being secondary damage means, no spell block, no spell dodge, or anything, just taking it in the face. |

Well for Armor-Chars with Fortify in the Beta she is trivial, even with double damage from exploding skeletons (they don't have 50% less ele-damage anymore). You can just ignore them and hit her, she isn't that tanky either. CWDT/Flesh Offering also disables her ability to create more zombies almost entirely. She is exspecially tricky for evasion or any other non-armor melee version, since phase acrobatics doesn't help and the zombies are able to hit well enough to be an issue for evasion-chars.
Vaal Glacial Hammer though is a nice one (or decoy totem with the new Frost Wall, if you have a room you can lock up). As long as she has enough zombies and skeletons she won't summon new ones. Viper Strike and Heavy Strike work quite well against her. But yeah on Beta Minion Instability is even worse due to Skeletons having twice the damage and all minions having more hp. |
