If I downloaded the Beta on steam how to go back to normal servers?

Or do I have to like completely redo the install (by unchecking beta under options, and redownloading like 3gb).
Complete reinstall on steam after unchecking beta is the only way afaik
I have PM'd you in regards to this.

So, what is so secretive about the issue and how to solve it? Why is the solution not posted publicly either as a sticky or in the threads that pop up from time to time?

It's probably the standalone installer which GGG doesn't want to leak onto the public (non-beta) boards.

Not to say that people don't already know where to find it, but people pre-emptively installing the beta install is a massive drain on GGG's bandwidth right now.
I pondered this same issue.

Solution for me was to download Beta Client through pathofexile.com, request that GGG add my email address to my Steam derived account and now I can play either Beta thro' the POE client or the standard game thro' the steam client.

Hope this helps.

How can this be done? Where am I supposed to write to get this change done?

I have just got Beta access via lottery, I gave away beta key from supporter pack, but now I would like to test a few things in Beta.

I certainly have no intention to redownload game via Steam every time. I have no issue with playing on non-steam client either.

--Update--
I apparently can play, using stand-alone client, in CB with my Steam-linked account just fine. I wonder if this has anything to do with first playing on stand-alone client and only later linking my already existing account with Steam.

Anyway, I'm enjoying first minutes of Awakening so far.

Make a copy of your steam PoE folder and rename it. (SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Path of Exile 1)
Do the Beta update installation on the original folder.
Change the name of the Beta folder. (SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Path of Exile BETA)
Remove the number 1 from the copied folder.
Add the Pathofexilesteam.exe from Path of Exile BETA folder as a nonsteam game.
Verify game files if necessary.

orrrrrr

download the Beta client and ignore this garbage ^

Download stand-alone beta client from the link you got with the beta key. I was able to log in normally with my account info into the stand-alone beta client.

If you are not able to log in, you might need to ask support for help as some other poster here did.
