a new mapping method - map fragments
i never said that the white maps would be stale, i just said that the maps would not be able to be crafted, and will be good enough white, as in uncrafted. by good enough i meant that they would have things in them that compare and can rival normal maps and normal map variety. for instance, randomly generated unique bosses, two random fragment mods (not map mods like chilled ground or blood magic, but new types of mods that are only found in fragments, like all damage converted to lightning, a very common (1/4 of maps will have this) contains a unique boss, all rare monsters have proximity shield, contains a random but optional grandmaster, cannot gain flask charges, etc etc etc.) mixed tilesets, floating islands that you can only get past using movement skills (yes, unfair to some builds but you can always swap out, something i am a big fan of) and other thinks to mix it up, as random as normal maps but unique in their own way.

Noop. If they're good enough white, then buh-bye maps as currency sink. Either currency drop rates would plummet of the economy would face huge inflation.
Without changing the core of how currency is applied to items (which is such a huge change it probably wn't happen), there is no feasible method to implement your idea. When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.

in which case we fall back to my original idea of batch crafting which everyone conveniently forgets i suggested.
