Plans to revamp map/minimap?

The thing i hate most about PoE is how horrible the map and minimap are. It looks like the map was an afterthought for GGG. Will they be making it easier to read in the expansion? Anyone know?

I think they said there were plans to improve it. Maybe part of the QoL imrpovements?
