" LoL is a pretty bad example for pay2win. If you play at such a "high" level where it actually makes a difference if you can immediately afford the newest champion, or have all the important champs at your disposal, you probably play so much hthat you can afford them with IPs. |

" True ^. Although is more pay2win than Hon for example. But yeah i have all my heroes bought with IP sooooo. "May those who accept their fate be granted happiness.

To the O.P.
I'm sure that Marvel Heroes will be a success. I believe that one of the original creators of D2 is one of the developers. The name of the game indicates that it is based on the Marvel universe - which is definitely not Wraeclast. Each to his own. I do not see that comparison between Marvel Heroes and PoE except in a limited sense is possible. Why not play both? And this? I was just doing what POE fan boys have been doing non stop to diablo 3 in game. The people have been horrible. If you don't like the game then don't log in and constantly harass those of us trying to play. I start out being very helpful and end up being harassed by the players as soon as i find out they are just trolling. It happens all the time, I don't see it being helpful for POE's image either.

Resurrecting this thread since the Marvel Heroes open beta weekend is upon us. No need to make a new thread.
I had low expectations for this game. I've played a few hours today with the Hulk. The combat and art are great. GGG could learn a thing or two for D3 and MH combat. They are both just leagues ahead of POE in that area. they also had much bigger budgets. I reached level 13 or so and actually found two heroes as drops (Black Panther and Jean Grey). Based on others comments, I was probably on the lucky side. My guess is a fair amount of early replay value will be in the area of rolling different heroes. I had found 4 full respec tokens, or whatever they are called, during my short playtime. Time will tell if free respecs will be an issue but I doubt it. The primary moneymaker for them is the creation and selling of new heroes and skins. I think they could do well with marvel villains at some point as well if they chose to go that route. I haven't played POE since the end of season 1. Marvel Heroes is certainly a good addition to the ARPG market. There are P2W aspects, but I currently have no issues with them. Anyone claiming that there are no similarities between MH and POE are either lying or stupid. They are both ARPGs in the vein of D2. Saying they are unrelated is like saying Warcraft and Starcraft are unrelated, even though they are both RTS games. Last edited by FrodoFraggins#7603 on May 4, 2013, 2:01:48 AM

Gave MH a shot, wasn't thrilled. What I don't like about it, is that your character - near as I can tell - won't ever appear different once you decide on which outfit you'd like to use. That is, if you play as the Mr.Fix-it Hulk... you'll always be the Hulk in a suit. Part of my enjoyment from ARPG's (or MMO's for that matter) is that you can put on that new chest piece and change the way you look.
I also didn't care for the P2W aspects of the game, and playing as Hawkeye, I found the combat very dull. Still, it is in beta (like another game I know) so I will hold off judgment until it's release. There are some promising aspects to it. "the premier Action RPG for hardcore gamers."

" I can get past that myself on a F2P game. Hell, if people want to keep the game going by buying costumes then go for it. I would like to see some custom skin rewards for major achievements. |
