The Awakening is PoE 2 we have been waiting for

Desync completely gone with the complete net code rewrite, a whole huge freaking act with ton of new and explained old story, skill tree jewels that will add immense amount of customization on top of the already deepest customization systems in ARPG genre, new type of weapons, 13 new skills, a whole new tutorial system for new players, a ton of essential QoL improvements like loot filter system and probably 1000 more things I didn't mention.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is PoE 2 and it's closer than ever.

Yes, it is a rewrite, and yes, with Deterministic Lockstep mode there will be no such thing as desync. You don't desync in Dota 2 or LoL which are using the same technology.

They are implementing a lock step method. There will be ZERO desync in exchange for a delay in your commands. Again, it is absolutely zero desync.
you underestimate how bad command delay can be , but yes if you use command lock step, desync is technically impossible.

at least now people will get to see what the alternatives are for desync. should be good

The great thing is you get to choose what is best for you. If you can't handle delay OR desync, then you need to give up on multiplayer games entirely. Nobody at GGG is going to increase the speed of light.
i just hope those passive gems are not a must to run builds like low life because it would be pretty annoying imo.

I play dota 2 a lot and I don't notice command delays when I play on servers close to me. I have a fairly low ping while playing PoE, so I'm certain this will absolutely be an upgrade for me

*facepalm* The limitation of the speed of light is not the only cause of desync. Certainly it places a floor on the best case scenario for desync, a point beyond which we can't improve desync, but we are by no means at that point currently.
