Except there is no rare shield with flat physical damage. That mod doesn't exist on rare shields.




You can craft them :). Not agreed on the inutility of great old. With a Legacy Bringer + tempest shield I could get 55/55 block with it and still get about 30k dps

Woop di doo, you never stop learning in this game. 2nd master craft I didn't know until today, the other was Leo's "reduced damage over time" mod on 2h weapons and shields, enabling RF without any unique item.

Not quite. Damage happens in packets. "more" creates a new packet, while "increased" multiplies any packet that has the tags that apply to it. Your 800% more damage means that one additional packet of 8x damage is created. Similar in most respects, but not quite the same as one packet with 9x the damage.


Not sure I'm understanding what you mean by packets here.

As I understand it dmg is calculated as follows:

(base dmg + flat dmg additions) * (sum of 'increased' bonuses) * (product of 'more' bonuses)

Are you saying that each of those sets of parentheses are one "packet"? i.e. dmg is calculated as follows:

packet1 * packet2 * packet3

where packet 1 is the final base dmg, packet2 is all the additive bonuses and packet3 is the multiplicative bonuses.

Don't quite know what the other poster is trying to say, but 800% more damage is 9x damage.
I believe every more multiplier is separate. If you have 2 more multiplier instances, like 30% more damage and 50% more damage, it will be 1.3x and 1.5x respectively.
So it will be something like damage * 1.3 * 1.5 = final damage.
