Vaal orb related question

hi there! I'm new in the game, I have been playing for less than a week now.

I have a little problem, I had an armor called Belly of the Beast Full Wyrmscale Armour and it had 5 sockets all linked together but then I wanted to corrupt it as I saw most of the items in the game I thought it would upgrade it but then it became a yellow item with the same skin. I'm quite sad because I made many characters and spent alot of time collecting the currencies to buy it, give it many sockets and linked it. I lost it in one clic. It had 40% hp which I guess was the max.

I wanted to know if it was possible to get it back by any mean?Maybe by contacting the suport?

Corrupts an item, modifying it unpredictably

It can mean it gives a random bonus. I've seen many of the same items corrupted with a random additional bonus.

No, if it would mean that it would say acquire a random bonus and not "unpredictably"
