burn / ignite dmg calculation
Could someone tell me how exactly ignite dmg is calculated?
Lets say my base fire dmg done with burning arrow is 200. Then I have: +50% more Weapon Elemental Damage +150% increased fire dmg +50% increased burning dmg +150% more dmg in close range (point blank + chin sol) +30% more trap dmg Wiki say: " Does it mean my enemies will burn for: Final damage = 200 * (1+1.5+0.5) * (1+0.5+1.5+0.3) * 0.2(enemy burn for 20% of dmg dealt) = (200 * 3 * 3.3 ) * (0.2) = 396 / second Or maybe increased burning dmg is added to burn dmg like this: Final damage = 200 * (1+1.5) * (1+0.5+1.5+0.3) * 0.2(burn)*(1+0.5) = (200 * 2.5 * 3.3) * (0.2 * 1.5) = 495 / second Some ppl say increased fire dmg affects both hit fire dmg and born dmg so its counted twice like this: Final damage = 200 * (1+1.5) * (1+0.5+1.5+0.3) * 0.2(burn)*(1+0.5+1.5) = (200 * 2.5 * 3.3) * (0.2 * 3) = 990 / second Which one is correct? Maybe its some other version? |

The easiest way to figure this out is separating Damage sources, rather than tossing it into one obtuse slew of numbers, in my opinion.
1. Chin Sol and Point Blank are of course separate multipliers. That's why they are More-type. 2. Damage over Time carries over Damage multipliers from the origin, but it cannot inherit Base Damage type modifiers (Attack, Spell and Damage over Time are all mutually exclusive!). Weapon Elemental Damage, Point Blank and Chin Sol's Unique modifier are all specific to Attacks, so they don't apply to your Ignite's Fire Damage over Time. Increased Fire Damage and More Trap Damage do apply. 200 base Fire Damage 150% Increased Damage 50/100/50/30% More Damage 200 * (1 + (150/100)) * 1.5 * 2 * 1.5 * 1.3 = 2925 Fire Damage dealt, assuming the enemy has 0% Resists. Ignite Damage equals 20% of Hit Damage as base Fire Damage per Second. 2925 * 0.2 = 585 base Fire DPS 150+50% Increased Damage 30% More Damage 585 * 3 * 1.3 = 2281.5, rounds to 2281 Fire Damage per Second. (EDIT: Forgot the 150% Inc Fire Damage!) Last edited by Vipermagi#0984 on Mar 28, 2015, 10:34:09 AM

" Its wrong for sure, u cant multiply all "more" mods, u must sum them. |

" They are called 'multipliers' for a reason. Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.
