what is ashrend good for?

Pandabears, did you pick up the Iron Grip Node from the Passive Tree? I think that's how the mod of the armour will also effect your bow attacks.

Also a Ranged Weapon for example is a Staff, if it was for Bows it would say "(10 to 15)% increased Physical Damage with Bows".

Staff is a melee weapon, not a ranged weapon. Sure, the attack reach is longer, but it's still melee. A ranged attack is any attack made with a wand or bow.

Most likely, tooltip is just lying. Otherwise, it's bugged and should be reported.
