(suggestion) A different game mode - MMORPG dungeon style

Hello this is my suggestion and thoughts on how GGG could bring a different 'game mode' that I think a good percentage of people would enjoy, using assets and technologies that exist in the game already (thus minimising resources needed).

My suggestion would be to add a different map mode into the game with an enthesis on team work. An example of the style would be dungeons or instance within most MMORPG games. They work well which is why it seems to be the prefered style.

A linear or near linear map interspersed with closed off areas (I think in games there called arenas) containing a boss or encounter. You complete the objective and then are aloud to move onto the next area. The next area would be the same linear path containing packs of mobs leading to next boss encounter.

The bosses in the arenas would always be the same. The mobs in-between boss encounters would be tuned to be relativly tame but if you mixed the wrong packs together they would buff each other and make things harder.

I have played PoE for over a year now and I have played my fair share of role playing games and MMORPG games. I think this system works. It would bring to the game a different way to play. Not to different but mix it up a bit and it would add a familure element to the game for others.

So.... this is just an idea. I fully expect some to hate it, others might think its an alright idea. I just think its an idea thats not terrible =)

We don't play ARPGs to play MMOs.
ARPGs borrow many concepts from other games as do MMOs. I just said 'like MMOs' because those are a type of games many gamers are already familure with.

I pretty much said this in my OP but you obviously skimmed through it or did not understand what you were reading. Ty for all your feedback though 'Natharias' it was really helpful...

No it seems to be you who has a misunderstanding, or lack of understanding.

MMOs have drastically different gameplay to ARPGs and other "similar games". The biggest difference being that ARPGs do not demand nor specifically reward party-play. Loot is one very good example. Yes you can be an ass and ninja a piece of mage armor, but it won't do you any good due to a soulbind system. Mage armor does nothing for warriors. Path of Exile, and other ARPGs, don't have that kind of loot system. And they don't have the soulbind system (thank god) to further mess with players.

So when you say "like MMOs", you're talking about a game with a considerable difference in handling. Very different.

I'll be as detailed as I can, so you don't misunderstand or completely miss my points.

If you want a good example of teamwork for ARPGs, look at Diablo II. Paladins synergized best with necromancers because the pally's auras applied to all of the necro's minions. Barbarians also synergized well because their shouts buffed all of those minions as well. Then tie in the Sorceress' cold spells to slow enemies, Druid's Oak Sage (even more life, especially powerful with the barb's life shout), and the Amazon's bizzilion arrows. Each character had something that they did well and that worked to benefit the group.

Path of Exile completely negates that by allowing any character to build anything and do whatever they need. And if there's anything you can't do, your build isn't "complete" or "viable" unless you skip that content. And it's not the problem of simply missing someone, it's that the mod or area can completely destroy you. Blood Magic maps prevent anyone that uses CI, MoM, relies on AA (not as much now due to the nerf), and other mana-related abilities. It also stops all builds that reserve auras/buffs on mana, which is everything except those that allocate BM as a keystone. No amount of other friends in a party can help you with that.

Sounds just like any other map. Hordes of enemies in an area. You clear them. Move on. Nothing new.

And what idea is that, exactly? Have hallways with enemies that you kill and then move on? How is that any different from what we have?
'Natharias' you made decent reply post and I do appreciate that. I do not think you are picturing my idea the way I am though. That is as much my fault for the way I structured my post as it it yours for not even trying to use your imagination.

Either way I cannot be bothered dealing with toxic douche bags on the internet. The post was for GGG.

This post is going no where, please lock.

They should insta lock all suggestions anyways, as people uselessly bump theme ven though it has been confirmed that GGG reads all of them.
