What kind of internet is recommened to play this game?

I been wondering if I upgrade to highest end package if game play improves? Like I have 160 ping and generally "desync" a lot.

Currently I pay for a mid range package.

Down is 15 Mbps
Up is 2 Mbps

whatever those numbers mean. Is that fast enough?

That is more than enough.

I play with:

5 down
512 up

And POE runs just fine

Dont waste your money, it wont change a thing. I have constant ~45 ms ping (fiber optic, 100MBit yadda yadda...) and desync is a problem. It's the game and GGG hamster servers.

For example; in races like Descent & D:C, the graph still shows stable ~45 ms on my end, yet the gameplay is laggy and sometimes desyncing like mad (eg.: goat zone in Descent). Leading me to believe that GGG servers are barely able to process all the requests.

Desync is best explained with this video

It's not your comp, net, isp... It's the game, bad AI, netcode and servers.

E:
Having a better connection might improve lag, but it wont improve desync.

West Coast US. But you may be right I went and visited Oklahoma which is supposedly close to TX servers (couple hundred miles). Ran way better on my laptop in hotel than high end game machine here at home.

Any internet is fine

the only thing you have to consider is "Am i near a server?"

if you are Far, you'll have a bad time
ZiggyD is the Labyrinth of streamers, some like it, some dont, but GGG will make sure to push it down ur throat to make you like it

The "speed" of the connection dose not really matter that much, even if you stayed with the same ISP and just upgraded the package the ping is likely going to stay the same because it's traveling over the same network and the same distance.
