Banned for Using a Particle Disabler - Why?

How come I can't use this? It HELPS me run the game better through all those discharges, spark effects, and many more particles.

Players and Monsters use these, I can't enjoy the game through spikes of lag (graphical) because of it.

Why is this an offense? I gain no advantage from it, unlike using a hotkey to auto log out right before you die, now that is an advantage AND a third party.

You'll have better luck emailing support@grindinggear.com - it's unlikely they'll discuss this on the forums (that's been true so far anyways).

It is likely that because separating out the "legitimate" uses of the tool from the less than savoury ones is not something that can be done currently there needs to exist a blanket ban on software that modifies the game memory (or whatever the tool does).

Chris and Co. have mentioned that the QoL fixes for graphical settings have been pushed up the priority queue though, so there is that.

The account was banned for using third-party software with Path of Exile. Due to this violation of the Terms of Use (section 6) the account cannot be unbanned.

I did not waste 2 years of my life and 20 dollars on a game just to get banned for something stupid.

Hmmm, well they warned all of the accounts that had been flagged a couple of weeks ago - and its been all over Reddit and the Forum that bans were incoming, so I guess they figure that you'd declined to heed the warning.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

If you have been using the particle disable it comes with a hack tool, WHICH you would have been specifically warned not to use not to long ago, even then the ToS that you agreed to also states that anything that fucks with the client regardless of their use will get you banned.

You chose to ignore both warnings and you got banned permanently, they won't restore access to the accounts and you have no one to blame but yourself.

To add to this Chris Wilson also said they want to hear nothing about the QOL improvements these hacks come with... they still have the map hacks right there and that makes running the program with nothing turned on a ban-able offense now!
Its not about the QOL features OR the maphacks at this point... the programs themselves will get you banned if they run with the game! plain and simple!

problem with this particle disabler, it hacks into the client's memory. which is not allowed at all so the ban is ok.

the reason behind the decision not being able to disable particles (yet) i can only guess. one of these guesses is that some players spent hundreds of dollars to have special particle effects. a percentage of them want's everybody to see them. understandable imho. even if it excludes some players.

another guess is that running the game with easy peasy system load allows more vm's per cpu for botting.
