RRGGBB bow, is it possible?

Well, I'm trying to get my bow RRGGBB... no more chromatics left.
Any ideas on how many chroms it usually takes to get 4 off-colors? Thanks. |

The best way to get this is probably through Vorici, by paying for two red/one blue. You can still get a chance for another slot to be a different, non-green color. For example, I paid for Vorici to color this with two blues...

I'm a bit skeptical of why you chose to 6L that bow (is +3 bow gems really so good that your DPS doesn't matter?), but http://siveran.github.io/calc.html is a nice and very accurate calculator. According to it, the most efficient method on average is to use the 1R1B option repeatedly, and will take an average of under 300 chroms with an acceptably low standard deviation (18 attempts = 270 chroms; with this as the standard deviation, it means that you have a 95% chance of getting your desired colors within [avg + 2 times this value]. So, if you just get 840 chroms, you'll have an overwhelming chance of getting your desired colors).
I know this probably sounds counterintuitive if you're not used to the math, but using 2R1B or 1R2B is actually noticeably worse, with an average value of nearly 600 and a standard deviation of over 5 attempts = 500 chroms. Last edited by codetaku#0468 on Jan 23, 2015, 3:45:17 PM

The +3 bow is for Poison Arrow (http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Poison_Arrow), the DPS of the poison cloud is set by the level of the gem. Not crazy DPS but fun to play and works well with the B+R item rarity and item quantity gems :) |
