I use AHK for /itemlevel, /remaining and /oos. And have previously a alt-f4 macro(not automated or anything just a one hit key alt-f4) which Im not using currently and havent for a while. Thats the only stuff I use it for, not for anything else on my PC. And I really couldnt see myself typing these three into chat each time. That would be a gamebreaker for me.

Anything other than that they can ban if you ask me.

Please read the OP you aren't understanding. You think GGG should ban me for having iTunes macros?

Did you email GGG? Did they tell you that you get banned? I doubt it. And you wont get banned unless you auto macro /oos or something.

When I made this thread I really didn't think it would be this hard to understand.

I have macros that run on my computer that violate GGG's policy on AHK macros. However, none of these macros have ANYTHING to do with PoE. The problem is that GGG cannot tell the difference.

They shouldn't, and won't ban anyone for using ahk to perform /itemlevel, /remaining and /oos. However, if GGG encourages and expects the use of shortcuts for these actions, they should get to adding those functions as part of their own game ASAP.

Yes they can, if you think otherwise, email them and ask directly. Are people afraid in this day and age of sending emails or something? I always email GGG with stuff and they always helped me out greatly.
I understand what you say in the OP. And Im telling you I dont think that you'll banned for using AHK. Within the game or for external uses. Just dont use automated commands ingame and youre golden(Not that I think they could actually test this from your AHK - But they might have some software that can tell or try to tell if automated commands are being used).

Sorry about the soapboxing!

Hopefully their detection system has a way of sussing out the ahk actions that are only interacting with PoE. I can't imagine that they wouldn't have taken cases such as yours into consideration.

A) it is only performing one action at a time such as /oos /remaining and even /itemlevel as well as logout! thing like popping multiple potions all at once or swapping out gear with one key and such is NOT allowed!

B) you are manually using the macro yourself and not on a automated script or timer!

I use several scripts that perform hundreds of operations at once and also function on timers, but none of these macros talk to PoE. That is what I'm concerned about.

i would say that as long as those scripts are not interacting with your POE client then it should not be a problem! im pretty sure they can tell if the script is interacting with POE and what they look for with scripts on timers is consistent use of macros within the game such as /oos hitting consistently on a given timer and such! what I would do in such a situation is contact support myself and ask them directly pertaining to your situation and such! they have been super kind and helpful with any issues and questions i have had about the game!
There is a fine line between Consideration and Hesitation.
The former is Wisdom, the latter is Fear.

How could GGG ever tell if my AHK scripts talk to their game or not?
I'm beginning to get a very different vibe out of this thread.

I will do this, thanks. I'm just concerned because I have ~$150 put into my account and PoE is my favorite game. I would be really upset if I was banned for something like this.
Post histories are REAL eye openers. Hope you got all of the answers you were seeking. I know I found mine.
