Wand stats for freezing pulse crit build

Well, "completely wrong" is a harsh thing to say.
I am a hardcore player. For me, spell crit chance means safety through freeze, projectile speed means safety through range. That is why I ranked critical strikes and faster projectiles very high, and if you get a lot of critical strikes, for example 50% (easily achievable), crit multi gives you a lot of damage (here: in 50% of the cases, a flat X amount of damage, so X/2 more sheet dps), and that is usually much more than spell damage could. On my FP templar, 10 % increased spell damage gives me the same amount of sheet dmg increase as 2% crit multi.
That, of course, differs from build to build and from item set to item set. If you don't care about range or the number of crits you land, pretty much anything related to spells is good on a wand, as long as it has high numbers :-)

this is what a FP wand could look like:

Hopefully you didn't spend much on your wand. Because everyone here is completely wrong.

In terms of DPS (with the following gem combination: FP+GMP+Echo+Cold Pen+FA+ICD):
Spell Dmg>Crit Dmg/Cast Speed>Spell Crit

Without FA: Spell Dmg>Cast Speed/Crit Dmg>Spell Crit
Without ICD: Spell Dmg>Crit Dmg>Cast Speed>Spell Crit

FA would give you more dps than ICD, btw. This is on about 10ex worth of gear lvl90 char. Running HoT and HoI. It would also apply to pretty much any char with enough lvls and gear to do maps, BUT... whether Cast Speed, Crit Dmg, or even a very high Spell Crit roll are better, depends somewhat on what stats you already have on your gear; i.e. Crit Dmg on your amy, Spell Crit on your rings, shield, and so on. Remarkably, Spell Dmg, which everyone here put in last place, makes the biggest difference and gives the most dps pretty much no matter what.

Ideally, you would want to buy a wand with the highest possible Spell Dmg, Cast Speed and with some Spell Crit on it, and then bench Crit Dmg on it, since you can get up to 27% inc out of 38% max (as opposed to only 11/22 with Cast Speed, 44/108 with Spell Dmg and 69/109 with Spell Crit). Or even better, find a wand with Spell Dmg hybrid on it that also has Cast Speed, Crit Dmg and Spell Crit, and bench Spell Dmg.

Increased Cold Dmg is basically as good as Spell Dmg, the only difference is that it doesn't affect the added flat Light Dmg from HoT and it wouldn't, if you decided to go that way, affect any other added dmg from a gem (like Added Light, Chaos), unless it was Added Cold Dmg. However, since it's a suffix as well, you are better off getting something else in its place.

LOL wut? "Completely wrong" I don't think anyone said get phys damage did they? You basically regurgitated what everyone else said but added im "Imthegreatest" to it. No1 here is completely wrong or even close, different build goals lead to different itemization. And I think people put spell damage last because it's pretty much a given that a wand will have some type of spell damage on it, which I thought was pretty obvious, isn't it? I think you need to hop off your pedestal. Besides that I argee with your post for the most part. Like I said we all have different goals for the build, I don't value cast speed as heavy as you do, for one since I'm using shavs I can use haste combine with blood rage and spell echo that enough cast for me, so I prefer to focus more on spell/cold damage and crit chance/multi. If your going for sheet dps which is strictly what your post seems to be focus on, then I'm pretty sure added chaos > ICD.
