Please don't feel bad if your situation is not conducive to supporting this game financially, friend. The game is free to play and you have every right to play it for free. Those of us who can support, do, and part of why we do is so that those who wish they could but can't, don't have to. The last thing the devs (especially Chris) want is people compromising their financial priorities to support PoE.

Also, 'your initial donation'** is more than enough in my opinion, unless you actively want mtxes. I've always viewed mtxes (some of which are RIDICULOUSLY overpriced) as something to spend your support money on, rather than something you buy GGGold to obtain. This likely does not hold for things like stash tabs, however.

The BIGGEST way you can support GGG right now is by being a friendly, open-minded community member. As you play, you'll start to see flaws in the game. Some pretty big ones, really. I implore you, no matter how they might make you feel at the time, please keep a clear perspective. Feedback is always good, but the way to frame it isn't always obvious. We all lose our tempers sometimes, even in this world of backspace and edit buttons, but it rarely really helps.

And if you see someone being unpleasant or rude or whathaveyou, use that report function rather than engaging directly. It's what it's there for, and too few of us use it appropriately.

If you do insist on supporting financially, I think it best to purchase directly. To maximise the value of your GGGold, watch the daily deals. They're massively reduced most of the time.

Finally, if you have any queries about supporting, moderation or anything really, hit up support@grindinggear.com. That's their job. While GGG don't want your money if that money was meant for, say, lunch or medication or rent, they DO want your money and will go to some lengths to make it attractive for you to give it to them.

**I strongly urge against calling it a 'donation'. I make donations fairly frequently and typically, they do not have defined compensation/goods for transaction. They're also usually tax deductible. You're not donating to GGG just because the game is free. You're choosing to support it, and in exchange for that support, you're getting clear and pre-defined goods (albeit virtual ones). It's a voluntary purchase of some of the game's non-essential features. Definitely not a donation. It's important to remember this because GGG isn't a charity. It's not begging for your money for a good cause. It is a business aimed at making money that just happens to give its core product away in the hopes that people with deep pockets will appreciate that gesture.
