Orbs of augmentation are kinda useless

Unavailable

Orbs of augmentation need to be buffed, right now, i feel they aren't worth picking up or be stashed (i feel they are wasting a slot on my inventory)
I stacked like 50 of them (and i even didn't even bother to pick them all) and i barely used 5-10.

The only good use i found for them is to give a 2nd mod to magic flasks.

Ideas to improve them:
- Add a mod (if the item has only one) or make it improve the current mods on magic items (for example, if a dagger has a +40 accuracy, using augmentation on it can lead to a +41 to +50 accuracy, up to the max of its item level). Magic items only have 2 mods anyways, wouldn't make them overpowered.

- Add a mod (if the item has only one) or reroll one or both mods (if the item already have a suffix & prefix). (I can't remember if there's already a magic specific reroll item)

I completely disagree.

Orbs of Transmutation, Orbs of Transformation, and Orbs of Augmentation are very common. As a result, you can afford to use quite a lot of them.

Use Transmutation and Transformation to create and reroll a magic item until it has one good mod on it, then use Augmentation to get a second while retaining the first (this dramatically improves your odds of getting two good mods, as you already have one instead of rerolling both with Transformation).

Then you can use a Regal Orb to make it Rare, and get a third mod while retaining your two good ones. Again, much, much better odds of getting three good mods if the first two already are. And at this point, you've spent primarily cheap/common Orbs of Transmutation/Transformation/Augmentation, and only one relatively uncommon Regal Orb.

They are adding an item to reroll mods' values without changing which mods they are; that's pretty exciting. I don't think it needs to be conflated with Orbs of Augmentation.
I agree with DragonWraith.

I use Orb of Augmentation for flask crafting.
Yeah, but that use case say more about Orbs of
Transformation, Transmutation and Regal Orbs than Orbs of Augmentation.
You have a good chance of getting both afixes from the Orb of Transformation/Transmutation and not even have a chance to use Augmentation at all.
They all have similar drop rate but not the same usability.

Getting a second mod is usefel in some cases but most of the time is unnecessary, and i feel that Orbs of Augmentation should be given a little more usefulness and power.

All other common Orbs are really useful and i always end up with low stacks when i try to improve my equipment, but not with Orbs Augmentation, I don't even use the ones i pick up.

I only played till level 33 but I always wished I had more orbs of augmentation... improved a lot of gear using them. Just today I got a 15% increased cast speed mod on my belt (+23 life base) which was great... and I used an orb of augmentation to add another mod without erasing that really good one.

Sounds to me like the system works perfectly - KurzedMetal (and others who share his opinion) can trade the orbs to those people who value them higher, in exchange for things he sees as having more value.

People disagreeing on how useful things are is good, and encourages trade.

Or, possibly, it just means that Party A is getting ripped off by Party B. ;)
I used to agree with you kurzed, until I tried rolling 20% quantity gear in all slots.

Needless to say, I've used hundreds by now.

When there is no defined value, it's one's own fault if he gets ripped off for making a trade he didn't want.

First in the credits!
Seems fine to me :)

I just wanted to post my thoughts about it, and see what the community felt about it.
Maybe i am not using their full potential.
I guess their usefulness in Flask Crafting may be enough too.
