Game launcher doesn't detect the game files

I tried to download the game so I installed it and started downloading but at 1% about 66 MB it fails and gives me strange error....It says request timed out
So I made a friend of mine download the game and I took it from him it worked on his computer so i took the files and put it in the location where i installed the game but it's not working it's like no files are in the game folder it is downloading like there are no data in the folder...
So how do I make the game launcher read the files ???
make sure you're only launching poe by right-clicking and selecting "run as administrator" on the PathOfExile.exe.

I'm assuming you're using the stand-alone client and not the Steam client?
And that I don't know the difference I just made my friend download it from the main site here downloaded the 7 MB launcher and downloaded it and yea running as administrator
That's a very unusual error to be having. If you have copied the game files from another computer that was confirmed working, you should have an executable file called PackCheck.exe in your game folder.

Run that as an administrator, it might show some clue as to whats going on.

You haven't recently installed windows by chance have you?
No longer works at GGG
Okay I tried this solution before is to remove Content.ggpk.zip from the game folder and same problem but i never opened the packcheck.exe after i did that
so when i opened the packcheck it was like this file isn't in syc.Repaired
and did that to all the files in the game folder or that's what it said that it repaired the syncing problem but when i start the game same problem it starts downloading

and no this windows is over 6 months it's windows 8 pro x64

I actually don't mind downloading it but i get that error at 1% no matter what...
Just a note
when i open Client.exe it gives me an error Unable to start PathOfExile.exe Please go to your directory and run it manually

Do you have a PathOfExile.exe? You should not be running the Client.exe manually... ever... unless directed to by support. You should only ever use the PathOfExile.exe to launch with.

Also, there should be no Content.ggpk.zip file. IF there is, it's because you put one there. My guess is that your friend zipped the Content.ggpk file up INSIDE of the Content.ggpk.zip and you never extracted it (which is probably why it didn't work).

You should have PathOfExile.exe and Content.ggpk in that folder. If so, right-click PathOfExile.exe and "Run as Administrator". Don't use a shortcut or other launching method. Only do it manually directly on the EXE itself as mentioned above.

Let us know what that produces.
I tried to unzip this zip file it said it's corrupted and now i have small Content.ggpk it's 16MB i guess but i still have this zip file..
Is there anyway that i can contact you by skype or can you open teamviewer and try to do what ever you wanna do ?
What happens if you delete the tiny Content.ggpk file and rename the Content.ggpk.zip to Content.ggpk?
did that when i start the pathofexile.exe it gives me error
