Best bow type for tornado build
|
I can't find the answer, is infractem better than lioneye's glare for tornado build? Those two bows seem to be cheaper than a good harbringer bow but I can't decide which one to buy. Infractem is by far the cheapest but is it any good?
If somebody could explain the difference I'd be grateful. Thank you in advance guys! Last edited by Anonymous_the_Pirate#2262 on Dec 23, 2014, 1:21:58 PM

I think lionseye glare is much better, infractem takes away leech affects so much harder to deal with mana leech etc. A good harbringer is dear took a look recently in standard seems to be about 5ex for a just under 300dps 6s harbringer. In the new leagues since add phys/acc hybrid is gone from master crafting expect them to cost a lot.

Main difference is going to be, 1) you can't leech with the Infractem, but you'll have 100% pierce chance and 2)Lionseye will let you leech, but you can't miss, which can be bad when you run into reflect mobs. Ultimately you want a harbinger if you're going to use TS imo, but if I was to pick between those 2, I'd go Lionseye so you could leech.

Buy an ilvl 73+ (can roll 2nd best mods) or 77+ (best mods) white harbinger.
You can either get any 5-6S and link it yourself, or pay a bit more and get a 5L+. I just picked up an ilvl78 78 5 socket harbinger for 2co (torment). Id normally get a 5L but they are quite rare at over ilvl77. Buy/save up hundreds of alts and a few stacks of augs. Transmute it. Alt it, and aug it when there is no prefix, till you get the mod(s) you want. If you pop a tyrranical stop there. Regal it. Take it to the bow machine and add another mod to it. Later on you can get the 2nd mod tweak and a 2nd mod from the shop if you want. Im a phys bow so I go for 130+% phys increase, then regal it, then add phys to it. If the regal gives a phys, then crit rate or multi. But that is for my build which is phys/crit based. If I get something that works out great for my build Ill 5link it and use it. Otherwise I'll sell it, double or more what I put in, and start again as I would really like a perfect bow with %phys, +phys, crit rate, crit multi. I already crafted one 73 5L decimation, spent maybe 6 chaos total working on it, and sold it for an ex. The next one I made I am currently using, while I save more alts to do my 78 harbinger up with. By the way a decimation bow is almost as good and can be found for much cheaper. Especially if you are on the new challenge leagues, lots of good harbingers have not hit the market yet. Im using that now on torment, its far from great (I just needed something 5L to use while I work on my harbinger), but it costs me less than 10co and maybe 10 minutes of time to buy the white 5 link and craft on those mods. |

Thanks everyone for replying. My dilemma is solved :) I'll try crafting a harbinger bow. I do have most of resources I just hope I'll be lucky enough to get decent stats. Will be by first crafting also, we'll see what happens.

first - try to get your links on the chest. bows are something you change from time to time, chest is mostly fixed choice and it is better to link it first
second - i'd select Infractem. in fact i did: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1096271 use exact same gear/gems/aura setup, just replace LA with TS. i do it from time to time to force myself into 'liking' TS, but i still prefer LA + Herald of Ice brutal combo works wonders Lioneye is ONLY for people with LOTS of armor and/or high dodge (darkrays + frenzy etc stuff). Reflect HURTS without it. if you are not comfortable with Infractem downsides - decimation/harbringer and just craft it as advised or simply buy one from the market and add the missing mod yourself |

Just to get a feeling for value of harbinger bows, is such a bow worth 2 ex if it has:
lvl 68 49% crit chance 130-298 dmg gives some res, mana on kill etc Before I decide to craft one I'd like to know price rates on the market for ''budget'' harbinger bows :) |

Don't Aug it, skip right to regal and pray to rngeesus for hybrid phys, then multimod.

hi,
i do not know if you are talking about end game or mid-game to end game. Lioneye or infractem are very low dps bow and will not make you it around 100k with gmp. YOu can use whatever you want until you get an endgame bow. Then you need to follow your build: - if you got an aura/crit based build, you need a windripper. - if you got a phys/crit build, you need a glyph mark. edit: i saw you were talking about budget, i think the aura/crit based build is much cheaper you could buy the bow unliked around 25ex and play with a 6l chest. About the second one, grab a 300-400dps bow with decent crit and grind 250ex for glyph mark. Sara Last edited by vitto369#3464 on Dec 24, 2014, 1:26:51 PM

sorry to say but these advices sound like RMT advices.. noone NEEDS 100k GMP tornado shot, not even half of it (esp the 'budget' player)
people are so obsessed with 'deeps' that some will not stop before getting all mirrored gear, no matter the steps required both infractem and lioneyes are capable of clearing 78 maps without much trouble - sure, these are mid-level solutions but are still viable to add to this - getting TOO MUCH 'deeps' requires a trip to vaal pact or forking hard cash for Acuity. reflect with 100k is impossible to handle without one of these two. one is passive/build costly, second is just costly i miss the times when 'good enough' meant something |
