Torment Ghosts and Run speed

I am having trouble killing the Ghosts, most of us at the start of a new league have very little run speed.
How is everyone catching up and killing the Ghosts they move at lightening speed and as a mellee new in the league it seems I have no chance until I can max my run speed.
It seems to me that the ghosts could use some slowing down in the early levels of the game so at least we can have a chance at killing them.
Yep, it's pretty frustrating when your dps isn't high enough to kill the ghosts. They just run back and forth faster than you and then disappear.

It's like that game you play with your dog where you pretend to throw the ball, but keep it in your hand.


Once you get the dps to kill them, then they're just a rare monster that doesn't fight back. So disappointing.

Try and trap them against walls, and in corners. Box em in, and spam away.

**also, quicksilver flask; you DID get one from the medicine chest quest, right?

Yeh I did the quicksilver quest it allows me to catch up and get a hit on the ghost, ghost then moves with speed out of screen pop quicksilver again catchup get another hit on ghost only for ghost to vanish. I dont get it ?

I had 15% ms boots with a regular quicksilver, and I was barely able to keep up with them. That's IF i had any charges left from just clearing the area
Here's an idea. Ghosts lose some of their vanilla loot from just killing them, but they last longer before vanishing. The idea seems to be that the way to get the most from them is get them to possess rares/unqiues, but they dont last long enough to reliably do so. Having them last, even 50% longer would allow for that "Rare herding" to take place better.

But yea, I agree. they're too tricky to kill low levels it seems. Especially for someone without directed damage like firestorm, ice nova or summoners to name a few.

Side note: Why is it so hard to get those ghosts to possess rare mobs? I had one fucker run right past 2 different rare dudes, stand right next to one for about 3-5 seconds before just peacing out. If they're going to be so obnoxious to catch and kill, can they be a LITTLE more responsive in their primary "possession" thing?

yeah , uh, no duh, I would try to corner them, etc... but they fucking VANISH

Stupid. Oh, and they don't drop anything good. I've gotten several decent uniques so far, none from any of them
If you are lucky and get the ghost near a bunch of other monsters, Vaal Cyclone works REALLY well. Usually I can hoover everything in and get a bunch of monsters infected by the ghost.

I really don't like the ghosts so much though, their AI is really lame. They can run away (very fast) and sometimes even seem to avoid mobs. They also like to run into walls and corners and get stuck. This is annoying when there's a moib close by but you can't herd the fucking ghost to infect the mob. Needs work.

Anyway, keep a Vaal Cyclone charged up and ready.
